The tangent that the Katy Perry/Sesame street post below went on got me wondering...what's so wrong with pizza? If the ingredients are fresh and you aren't loading it with processed meats, why is it so bad? It's actually pretty healthy as far as fast/restaurant food goes. Tomato, cheese, veggies...I just don't see the issue. If your toddler eats only 100% organic veggies and only whole wheat bread products, ok. But as far as my household is concerned, if I can get my DS to eat a piece of pizza...it's a good day.

Re: What's wrong with pizza?
I have no problem with pizza.
I have a problem with Coke - sticky floors and ball pits though. That's the evil of CEC to me. Not pizza.
Yes, this I can see. We have not been to CEC....ever. But the argument below was strictly about the pizza as an unhealthy food. I don't get it.
Nothing! Stuffing it in your kids face every day, ok, probably not the best, but every once in awhile, there is absolutely nothing wrong with pizza IMO.
This, exactly. Most take-out pizzas are going to have a lot of questionable ingredients. Just like anything homemade compared to take-out, you can make your own much healthier version.
I think depending on where you live...CEC must have different quality pizza. B/c our CEC pizza is delicious...not cheap or very greasy either. We don't order pepperoni though (b/c that is greasy no matter where it's from). But the cheese pizza is yummy! It's actually my favorite pizza (as far as pizza places go).
ETA: Now I want some pizza dangit!
I agree that CEC pizza probably isn't the most healthy choice as far as pizza goes. But we only go there once a year - twice at the most? DS eating pizza from there once/twice a year isn't going to kill him. I'm pretty laid back about him eating out once in awhile.
There is nothing wrong with pizza when it is made with healthy ingredients, but places like Chuck E. Cheese make their pizza with some nasty stuff. First, the dough is made from white flour, high fructose corn syrup, and a list of additives/preservatives a mile long. The tomato sauce comes from a can (full of BPA) and is also full of corn syrup. The cheese is processed cheese, not real cheese. All of this is also full of rancid vegetable oil (that's why it's so greasy).
Pizza made with a nice whole wheat crust, healthy tomato sauce, fresh veggies and real cheese = healthier
Pizza from Chuck E Cheese/Pizza Hut/etc = not so healthy
meh - we have take out pizza maybe once a month/2x a month. I give DD half a slice w/ cheese and sauce. Surprisingly, she's still alive and doesn't weigh 80 lbs.
Just like everything else, in moderation its fine.
She's also tasted McDonald's french fries twice and has had a few sips of coke. These things exist in our culture and trying make unhealthy choices totally off limits just creates mystery and demand.
This exactly!!
