Hi guys! What a week it has been for us. Cristian Alexander and Grayson James were born Friday afternoon. I was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday for high blood pressure. After a couple days of labs showed questionable results, my doctors decided to go ahead and bring these babies into this world.
We weren't going to do a c-section, but with no signs of labor imminent, an induction could have likely taken a couple of days, so we went ahead with the c-section.
Even though I was only a little over 36 weeks pregnant, Grayson weighed 7lbs 7oz and Cristian weighed 7lb 4 oz. Talk about surprise! A week before, their estimated weight was 6lb 5oz and 6lb oz.
Grayson had to go to NICU for about 12 hours just for observation because he was grunting while trying to breathe, but thankfully both boys are healthy and got to come home with me Monday afternoon.
The c-section was rough and I had to go to extended recovery for a while, but it was all so worth it. Even if we got zero sleep Monday night on their first night home.
Things went better last night, so hopefully we'll get into a nice rhthym where I'll have time to actually do something hhmm, like shower. lol.
Anyway, here's a photo of the boys, taken by the lovely Megatann. Cristian is on the left, Grayson is on the right.
