Baby K'tan?

What does everyone think?  Is it simplier to use than the Moby? I love my Moby but hate all the fabric and its not easily portable in my diaper bag and I HATE putting it on before I leave the house...I look a little silly pumping gas with it on, or running into the convience store!  I was thinking of getting the K'tan it looks more convinent and looks like it would stay on much better...just wanted others input!

Re: Baby K'tan?

  • I think it would be easier, but still would only last about the same amount of time.  From what I've read it is made out of a similar fabric as the moby (supposedly a stronger stretchy fabric) so once your LO hits about 15lbs it will probably become uncomfortable.

I'd save my money and just get a woven, mei tai, or SSC.

  • There are a few online stores you can buy from, but my favorite place is thebabywearer.com for sale or trade.  (you have to join to view the site but it's free and a wealth of info)  The wraps are usually pre-loved so you can find great deals and I prefer used because they are already broken in.

The ones in my siggy are a Didymos Jonas (they seem to be a bit scarce, I've only seen one on FSOT) and the red one is Vatanai Koira.

Feel free to pm me if you'd like help shopping!  And here is the link from Ncbelle's siggy that gives you a break down on the different brands.  https://www.becomingmamas.com/babywearing-2/wraps/

  • Oh and I forgot to add that if you feel like taking a drive there are a few brick and mortar stores in the NE area but I'm not exactly sure where they are.  And you might also look around to see if there is a babywearing group in your area.  Most have lending libraries and will let you test out different carriers and wraps!

  • have a K'tan and love it. i actually got it because my wrap was too difficult, especially when i was in a hurry. and i am petite so i always had fabric hanging and dragging when putting it on. the k'tan is so much simpler and gives you all the same holds. i still use and lo is 21 lbs.
