Pregnant after 35

Not sure if I belong here, but could use some encouraging words...

Hi! I am not sure if I belong here yet, but could use some encouraging words.

I am about 4 weeks pregnant with my second, after trying for a year.  BUT, doctors suspect ectopic.  I won't find out for sure until Thursday.  I am kind of freaking out - I'm 40, it took me 5 years to have DD, and we had all but given up on having another.  Now that there is a chance, I want this pregnancy to happen. Anyone have a suspected ectopic that turned out to be in the right place?

Thanks!

  • I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know the next week is going to go so slowly, but take care of yourself and try and stay positive. T&Ps that all is well!

  • Why do the doctor's suspect ectopic?

I'm 40 and was diagnosed with Endometrios back in Jan of this year.  Though I was told I had a slim chance of ever getting pregnant, I moved forward went through several testing and had a surgery back in April that would remove my left tube.  Doctor's said that I had only 20% chance of getting pregnant after the surgery and even with that ratio it could turn out to be a ectopic.  They immediately told me that they wanted to start me on IUI which if failed would lead to IVF.  I choose an alternative route.  I read and followed the "Infertility Cure" and started acupuncture.  I'm now in my 13th week with my first.

All in all...keep your head up.  I'm hoping for the best for you!

  • Try to stay postivie although it's hard. Why do they suspect an ectopic (betas, pain in certain areas, bleeding)?
