Infertility

I know this has been asked a million times about progesterone (TMI possibly)

I just started suppository's. My RE thinks it will help space out my cycles better to give more time for the egg to embedd into my uterus.

Any side effects besides leakege that I should know about?

My question is how do you insert it?Hmm Using your finger? Or any other tricks to the trade? Thanks everyone!

  • I don't have any special tricks. I just use my finger and push it in as high as I can. Oh, and the only side effect I have other than the leakage is it makes my boobs super sore.

  • I also just used my finger to push it in.  I had a little bit of leakage (it gradually got worse), sore boobs and it really irratated me. . . I almost felt like I had a yeast infection.  I felt super dried out even though I had the discharge.  I have sensitive parts though so maybe thats why? :)  Good luck. . . they are not too bad, just more annoying.

  • Not really any side effects here. I was given a little insert thingy to put mine in.

  • Mine comes with an applicator, too.

There is some leakage, but I just get up extra early, insert, and then go back to bed for 30-45 min.  The leakage is not as bad as the first week.

Side effects: sore boobs, extremely tired.

This. I'm currently on 3 capsules per day so I do one in the am and 2 in the pm before I go to bed, in hopes of reducing the amount of discharge - I may be, but there is still a lot. Stock up on panty liners!

  • I found I need more than a panty liner to handle the leakage.  Besides leaking, my boobs have been a little sore, but not a big deal.  I usually just use my finger and push it in as far as I can go but I have really small hands so (TMI alert) sometimes if DH is around, I'll ask him to put it in for me.

  • I only had to do one at night and didn't have any trouble with discharge - maybe just a little at night.  But none during the day - again, I was only doing one a day.

I had an applicator for inserting the capsule.

  • I just use my finger and push it in as far as I can go. Definitely leakage...panty liners are my new friend. This is only my second month on it, but I get some sore boobs and a bit of fatigue. The fatigue is only the first day or two and then my body seems to adjust.

    Best of luck!

  • I lay still for 15 minutes after. DH does it for me. Only s/e are sore bubbies and fatigue like everyone else. I'm actually not even experiencing the discharge that much (knock on wood). GL!!

P.S. I wore your socks to my FET :) I picked the ones with peacocks on them. I really hope they did the trick. Beta is next Tuesday! :)
