Ok, so good news! The resection cavity is CLEAR! There are no visable tumor cells! We have been VERY lucky to have the absolute BEST Drs. working with us. The neuro oncologist in charge of our case is the director of the whole department. He is VERY smart and explained everything so well. He said with the type of ...tumor she had there's about a 9/10 chance that nothing will ever come back. The 1/10 chance would be if it were not completely removed. The surgeon is very confident that he was aggressive enough during the removal, so that makes it even better. (Sometimes the 1/10 can come from the tumor being in a hard place to operate, which wasn't really the case with Madi.) As far as recovery, she is still off balance and has a hard time getting her muscles to coordinate, but that's because she literally has a whole in her brain, and it's in the part that controls all that stuff. She is getting better every week with therapy though!
Thanks for all the T&P!!!

Yay -- that's great news!
I tutored a young man who is a brain tumor survivor. He also had radiation to his brain, which made his recovery difficult. He didn't have large motor issues, but he did have difficulty with memory and processing speed as his brain healed. It's amazing how well the brain can recover from major trauma like this!
