Trying to Get Pregnant

Newbie and looking for opinions...

I've been lurking on this website for about a week now and this is my first post.

MH and I have only been TTC now for about a month. I used an OPK and got a positive on 9/13. Today I noticed some really weird cramping that isn't like AF cramping. AF is not due till Sun or Mon.  I've been trying to wait until I'm late before I take a test because I don't want to get my hopes up. I haven't starting temping or anything like that yet because this is our first month TTC. I've also had some serious body aches and have been really tired this week.

I don't know what to think and I really don't want to POAS yet because it still seems to early. What do you guys think? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

  • Take a test or wait until AF arrives. I would start temping it will help you learn a lot about your body.

  • Wait to test and distract yourself in the mean time.  You can make yourself crazy and it won't change your pregnancy status.
  • Wait until you are "late" and then go from there.  There is nothing else you can do.

  • If you got a positive OPK on 9/13 *and did in fact ovulate* you are less than 10 DPO so it is too early to test IMHO.

Also, since this is your first month, I would like to formally wlecome you to the phantom symptom club. Now that you are tying you will notice every twinge and spasm in your body and think it is the sperm meeting the egg and joining together in a beautiful rainbow of sparkle and love and light that is a baby. Try not to let that drive you crazy.

    Edit for clarity.

  • I love the way you described that! I know, the first month after I had my iud removed I had all kinds of crazy symptoms that I thought were pregnancy symptoms. Turns out it was just all my crazy hormones returning. I've been trying really hard to not read into every little feeling. Today was just overwhelmingly strange.
  • Ditto everything the other ladies said. Also, did you go off of birth control? Because that made my body go haywire! I had cramps, fatigue, and mood swings galore. And as mentioned, TTC can make you have phantom symptoms. Try not to stress and find something to distract yourself. I drove myself (and DH) crazy the first 2 cycles. After beginning to temp and chart, I am a little less neurotic. GL!
