hi cuties -
i'm getting this done next week and have lots of questions (i'm sure you're not surprised).
1. were you awake or under twilight? my RE's office gave me the option of going under but I'm not taking it.
2. what did it feel like? how long was actual procedure?
3. were you ok to go to work afterwards? did you have any bleeding, pain, discomfort?
4. my RE's office is sending my biopsy out for testing. i have to pay a $500 fee to lab doing testing, did you have a similar expense?
5. any tips/suggestions for day off biopsy
6. did this test turn up any issues for you? how are they being treated?
thanks, I appreciate any insight
Re: if you've had an endometrial biopsy - please come in (s/paifw)
1. were you awake or under twilight? awake
2. what did it feel like? not a good experience for me. Apparently I'm one of the few that it was super painful for. how long was actual procedure? Just a few minutes
3. were you ok to go to work afterwards? I didn't, but I probably could have. My dr. is several hours away from home. did you have any bleeding, pain, discomfort? Some bleeding
4. my RE's office is sending my biopsy out for testing. i have to pay a $500 fee to lab doing testing, did you have a similar expense? I had to pay that too.
5. any tips/suggestions for day off biopsy Take some ibuprofen before.
6. did this test turn up any issues for you? how are they being treated? 3 day lag in lining, corrected with progesterone after LH surge.
Good luck!

Surprise! Baby Boy is on the way!
1. were you awake or under twilight? my RE's office gave me the option of going under but I'm not taking it. I was awake.
2. what did it feel like? It felt very pinchy and very scrapey. how long was actual procedure? Just a few minutes and as soon as it was over, the pain stopped.
3. were you ok to go to work afterwards? I did. did you have any bleeding, pain, discomfort? I may have spotted and had mild cramping, but I can't even remember- so that's a good sign.
4. my RE's office is sending my biopsy out for testing. i have to pay a $500 fee to lab doing testing, did you have a similar expense? I'm not sure how much it cost.
5. any tips/suggestions for day off biopsy. I was told to take 800 mg of Motrin an hour before the procedure. I think this helped.
6. did this test turn up any issues for you? No, of course nothing was found from it but my doc treated me with two weeks of Doxy anyway- just to be on the safe side. how are they being treated?

1. were you awake or under twilight? my RE's office gave me the option of going under but I'm not taking it. Awake, had it done during my diagnostic hysteroscopy.
2. what did it feel like? how long was actual procedure? Sharp pain that I haven't really felt before. Literally, I could tell he was scraping it.
3. were you ok to go to work afterwards? did you have any bleeding, pain, discomfort? I was stil a bit uncomfortable and didn't go to work (but I had planned it that way). I probably would've been able to do my desk job though.
4. my RE's office is sending my biopsy out for testing. i have to pay a $500 fee to lab doing testing, did you have a similar expense? I do not remember this, I think it was covered by insurance as diagnostic testing
5. any tips/suggestions for day off biopsy Loose clothing and Ibuprofen:)
6. did this test turn up any issues for you? how are they being treated? Not that I know of, so I am assuming it was good news.
It's painful, but doesn't last long. For me, the pain almost took my breath away and I almost started squirming. And I like to think I have good pain tolerance:) But again, it's very short-lived, so I don't think the twilight is necessarily worth it. Good luck, sweetie, you'll do great!

***My posts are always SAIFW**
1) I was awake
2) I'm not going to lie... it hurt, but the whole procedure is only a few minutes and the actual cutting out only take a few seconds, so the pain is intense for those few seconds and then subsides
3) I had bleeding and did go to work
4) Mine was not that expensive at all... I think I paid $75
5) I would see if they can give you any pain meds prior. I took tylenol and it did absolutely nothing!
6) The test showed my lining was 2 days behind where it should have been according to my cycle. It is what my RE expected and I am on a high does of progesterone and estrogen to help with my lining in the second part of my cycle
Good luck! It is definitely quick, so it will be over fast and then you will never have to do it again
