The morning was good. As soon as they put the ultrasound wand on me the baby waved at us

I felt relieved until I asked the tech what the results were. She said she couldn't really say because they needed my blood work results to do the final percentages. Then I asked what the scan results were and she said "the baby's nuchal fold is measuring at a .8 but we like to see below a .3" Holy cow.... I freaked out! We went home and I researched everything I could and didn't find anyhting that said .8 as far as the measurements. Everything talked about mm and that a good range to be in was below 3mm so I immediately thought that her .8 was really 8mm!!!! That meant my baby was going to have some sort of abnormality whether it was chromosonal or a heart defect.
THANK GOD I had an appointment at 2:40 to meet with the doctor. As soon as they walked in I started freaking out. She went and got the results and said that she checked with one of the other physicians and that my results were really .8mm and that I was in the low range for the scan part of the results. For my gestation & age they like to see below a 1.3 not a .3! Holy moly... I started crying with relief. Techs should not attempt to give any sort of indication of a result

(although it was my fault that I asked) She was way off in telling me that I should be below a .3.... unnecessary worry for the day. Now just waiting for the blood work

Re: NT Scan..Worry to Relief
Thanks for the post I was hoping some one would. Sorry the tech put you through that. Glad everything went well.
I go for mine tomorrow did they say how long the blood work would take to come back?
Glad it went well! I am soooo nervous for mine because I've read a lot online (which always gets me into trouble) about what they look for behind the neck of the baby and even in my ultrasound (before my ticker on here) the thickness looks more thick than normal to me behind my babies neck. It has me very very worried but my husband is telling me not to jump to conclusions yet. But I just have a horrible feeling in my stomach cause I feel like something is going to go wrong. I'm not a doctor and I'm probably worrying myself.
So glad yours turned out well and it was a happy ending once you saw the doctor, guess we shouldn't ask the technician for results. I would've been scared too! Yay for seeing your baby wave to you, what a wonderful feeling that must've been! Can't wait to see my LO again
They said it should take about a week to get the bloodwork back. Good luck tomorrow! I am sure you will be ok
