Middle Name help...

Okay.. My husband and I need help with a middle name for a lil girl. We've picked out our boys name. and he wants to name the girl after his dad who passed away. Jaime Lee.. but i thought that sounded a lil (sorry to offend all jaime lees lol) redneckish lol.. So we put the Ja and lee together and were going with Jaylee for a girl.. but what middle names sound good??

I like a few but ... any other suggestions are much appreciated!

Jaylee Justine

Jaylee Colleen

Jaylee Raeann

Re: Middle Name help...

  • Not a huge fan. jaylee nms... but I've seen WAY worse.

I don't mean to be mean, but you don't think Jaylee Raeann is slightly hillbilly'ish?

IMO, maybe try a one syllable name. Jaylee Grace. Jaylee Rae even. Jaylee Ann. Jaylee Joyce

  • I love Colleen! Unfortunately DH doesn't.

Could you do Jamie Lee, or one or the other, as a middle name? Jaylee might be cute for a baby, but I'm not sure how well that would age.

  • Not to be that guy, but Jaime Lee (first and middle) sounds much less redneck than Jaylee anything. The name is NMS at all, but if you're set on it, then you're set on it.

Jaylee Justine - I don't care for the double J's, though I do like the name Justine. It flows well, I just don't like the alliteration.

Jaylee Colleen - Eh. It's not bad. I don't think it flows well, but I love Colleen.

Jaylee Raeann - It took me a second to figure out the MN. It's like Rae Ann, right? Or is it like Ree Ann? Jaylee Ree Ann is sing-songy, and Jaylee Rae Ann is just hard to say (a long A followed by a short one is just awkward for me).

It's hard for me to think of MNs that would work with Jaylee because nothing really sounds good with it to me. What if you used the "Lee" from your friend's name as a MN for something else? Lee is a great MN and goes with just about anything. Jaylee is just too difficult, unless you're okay with the generic Grace, Anne, Marie, Lynn that sound good with everything.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  • Really dislike Jaylee and thinks is sounds way more backwoods than Jamie Lee. What about Jemma (form of Gemma, but similar to Jamie) as the first name and some form of Lee (Leann?) as the mn.

    I agree.

Also, I wouldn't use Jamie Lee because it reminds me of Jamie Lee Curtis, but I don't think there is anything wrong with Jamie or Lee on their own.

Another option is to just use the initials to honor your family member. So just pick a first name you like that start with J, and a middle name that starts with L.

Another PP said to go with a one syllable mn and I would have to agree. All of your proposed mn's just seem like too much of a mouthful with Jaylee. And Jaylee Raeann sounds like four names altogether (Jay Lee Rae Ann). Just Jaylee Rae could be cute. But like another PP suggested, using Jaime or Lee as the mn might be a good compromise.
