Parenting after a Loss

I'm sick :-( what do I do???

I'm so worried I'm going to get Brady sick! It started yesterday with feeling all achy...then last night I had the chills and then night sweats. I think it's just like a 24 hour flu thing cause I'm starting to feel a little better just no energy. But I'm nursing Brady and now I'm freaked out that he's going to get sick! He's still so small! I mean should I pump and restrict close contact with him? Or is the damage already done and now I just need to wait and see if he gets it?? Sorry I know this seems like a panic post over something small I just am so careful right now with him because he was early and I don't want anything to happen...

  • actually it is best if you can keep nursing him when you are sick. He will get antibodies from you that will help him fight off sickess

  • Yuck... I'm so sorry.  I don't have any additional advice, but wanted to tell you that I hope you feel better and that LO does not get sick.

Ok thanks! I haven't stopped nursing just trying not to be so close when I'm not right now. I kinda thought it would be better to just keep nursing him I just wasn't sure. Thanks again!

  • Kellymom says the best thing you can do for your baby is continue to breastfeed.

Unless my pedi tells me something specifically different, that's what I would do.
