Sweet 16 Tea Party

I've been invited to a Sweet 16 Tea Party for one of the girls at my church. I have never been to one of these so do people get all dressed up? And what are some ideas for a present? TIA

    I've never been to a Sweet 16 Tea, but I would wear a dress or dressy pants or something like that.  And I would get her a gift card to somewhere like Old Navy.  Teenagers love clothes.

    I have never heard of them, but nowadays there is something for everything. Do they wear jewelery? How about a charm bracelet, or a necklace with a charm of something they like.

    I would wear a nice "daytime" dress, know what I mean?  Not a suit, not a cocktail dress, but something cutesy.

    As for gift, I think teenage girls are into jewelry right now as well.  An iTunes gift card is also something I think they could all use.
