We have chosen the Dr Brown bottles for the boys. When registering, I wasn't sure if to get the short/fat ones or the tall/skinny ones... so I registered for both. And surprisingly got them both along w/ their cooresponding nipples.
I was thinking we only need one "model" but am not sure. What do you ladies prefer... and why?
ETA - sorry for confusion - both bottles hold the same amount of liquid (8oz). I will have a few of the 4oz avail, but the majority I plan on having 8oz... just don't know if short/fat or tall/skinny.
Re: Poll: Bottles
We use the Playtex Drop-In's, but I'm guessing the short vs. tall thing has to do with how much liquid they hold, right? If so, we used the short ones after I stopped BFing for a few months (form 4 months - 6 months, maybe)...but as she got bigger, she needed more milk = bigger bottles. We don't use the small bottles at all now, so I would suggest getting more big than little.

We got Dr Brown for both kids and I sworn by them. Personally, I would just get the tall/ skinny ones that are 8oz. You can use those until the boys transition to a sippy cup. I would invest in different sizes/ flows of nipples though.
Also remember the more bottles you have and use the more bottles you need to wash! And after a long day with both boys or you working the last thing you want to do is wash 5 billion bottles and the peices to them.
I would just get the tall skinny ones. It will seem like feeding a newborn with a big gulp in the beginning but they outgrown the smaller ones so fast that it doesn't make financial sense to get both. BTW - get the Dr Brown gadgets for cleaning. Those bottles are a huge PITA to wash and they have so many pieces that you really do use those for that brand.

I only use Dr. Brown Bottles. We got the short and tall ones. We have probably used the short ones a hand full of times. So we went and bought more skinny tall ones and just use those. I love the Dr. Brown bottles, but they are a bit of a pain when it comes to cleaning them due to all the parts. We also used tommee tippee, but Jacob hated the nipple and it made him gassy.
This is what I wanted to hear... a "scientific" reasoning for the 2 sizes. Thanks. I'll be returning the tall bottles then... even though they prob take up less space in the diaper bag when travelling. Oh well... I guess I'll need a "lunchbox" of sorts for longer trips.
Thanks everyone for your input.
