Please tell me I'm not the only one watching these two women that have children. This is ridiculous and completely disgusting. How can they subject their children to that kind of environment? It's actually more sad than anything.

It's a mental healht issue. It doesn't mean they don't love their children, or that they don't want help. Often it's really hard to reach out especially when it's a relatively new/misunderstood disorder.

I'm checking out 2nd tri because I'm anxious to be here--so I hope it's okay that I am chiming in on this! My husband and I just started watching this show. It's a train wreck that I just can't tear myself away from. I couldn't watch it very much when I was really nauseous and depressed a few weeks ago because it was making me sick. And after laying on the couch all day and letting the housework pile up, I started to think that I could very easily end up a hoarder. Such a sad illness. I wish they would post updates on their website about the people they feature.

No one here was making comments that would mean they didn't have compassion. It was a simple statement of not understanding how or why someone would be able to do that to their children.

It's definatley a mental disorder. When we had to move my grandmother assisted living apartment we had to help clean her place out. She could have easily been on this show. She still had clothes in the back bedrooms that my mother wore in HS. She couldn't make a decision about anything, even newspapers that were over 20 years old. In her mind, someone could use it in some way. It was crazy! Her kitchen was probably the only room in the house that was clean and clutter free. She didn't have pets so at least there were no nasty pet messes.

I watch the show all the time. It's pretty fascinating.

It's tough to have compassion for people who let their animals sh!t everywhere, especially if there are children living there. I know it's more complicated than that but that's disgusting.

I watched it and was furious. ?I have no motivation? WTF Are your children no motivation? I think they are a motivation for everything. And the mom who lives with her mom and knowingly subjects her child to that? WTF, she seems like an unfit mother to me. How can you subject your child to that. Living on the street would be cleaner.

I realize it's a mental disorder but it doesn't make it any less horrible. When you see that little girl only able to play on a couch because there's cat *** all over, it's pretty bad.
