I just got an e-mail saying a kid in my son's daycare was just diagnosed with the Croup. They won't tell us if it's in my son's class or if it was another classroom- but they all use the gym so he would be exposed to it anyway.
My son got it at daycare last winter and I'm terrified of it. Listening to my son gasp for breath with the Croup was the scariest thing I've ever been through and that includes me almost dying in childbirth! Now I have an infant too and though we Purell my son when he comes home, I am so scared of her getting it too.
Ok- I guess I don't really have a point. I'm just so scared - it's one thing when it's me but when it's children who are so vunerable and it's totally out of my control, I don't like it. I'm a control freak!
Re: Croup at my daycare!
that sucks.
last year Gray was hospitalized for 4 nights b/c of meningitis - he was only 3mo old... it turned out to be viral - just a random virus he got that went into his spinal cord.... Our pedi said we should have Griffin change clothes once he got home from daycare - to avoid spreading the germs to the babies. Hand washing isn't enough.
Oh my god- meningitis! Even viral is scary. Wow. Glad he's ok. Great suggestion about changing clothes. I'm definitely doing that from now on. It never occurred to me but it totally makes sense.
