anyone on here considered "high risk"

I am... I get blood clots and have to do Lovenox shots Once a day in my belly... the only good thing about it is Ill be induced 2 weeks early so that I don't go in labor.  With DD  I was suppose to be induced and my water broke at 37 1/2 weeks....she was just a little peanut 5pds 13oz

Re: anyone on here considered "high risk"

  • Yep! I'm on heparin twice a day in the belly and will be induced at 39 weeks.

  • I'm high risk because I had cervical cancer in 2006 and had surgery to remove it. So my cervix could become soft, thin or begin to dilate far too early in pregnancy. I just had an u/s Friday and my cervix looked completely healthy, but I'm still being monitored.

  • I am.

They have as high risk due to my history of preterm labor and DS's placenta starting to decay early. It contained blood clots and had about 4 other things wrong with it. I started labor at 35 weeks last time, I hope this time I can make it to 37.

  • Yep ... I'm high risk because I have a blood condition that causes me to have too many platelets.  I'm on baby aspirin for that.  But then I'm high risk again for pre-eclampsia and the placental abruption I had in my first pregnancy

  • Me too!  I'm high risk because I'm having twins and with that comes double the tendency for Pre-E, Gestational diabetes, Pre term Labor... ect.  I am trying to look at it as a little bit of a blessing because I get monthly ultrasounds and extra tests for my piece of mind.

Everything is going well so far though.

    How are you ladies doing?

  • I'm high risk because I have seizures and am on a Class C.

....she was just a little peanut 5pds 13oz

That was the exact weight of my DS :)

I am high risk because I have high blood pressure. Also I am a leg amp with an under-developed pelvis, so they really don't want me to go into labour.

  • I'm high risk due to the triplets, mostly because of the identical twins sharing a placenta.

  • Me... hbp that got high (160/90) with DS, but thankfully didn't go into full blown pre-e.  They are super scared I will develope it with this one and already warned me that I may be on bedrest at some point prior to delivery.

  • Wow welchm1. That is one of the biggest signature pics I've seen on here. May want to make that a little smaller.

Some say I would be classified as high risk because of the Crohns, but not a severe one at all as long as things go smoothly.

  • I'm high risk due to severe pre-e with the twins. They were born early too. Also, I am at a higher risk for a uterine rupture. I am supposed to have a schedule c-section at 38 weeks but it's going to be later than that since the twins turn 1 when I am 38 weeks.

  • I am another pre-e mommy with DD.  Had 8 weeks of bed rest before we induced at 37 weeks.  I have had chronic hypertension since I was 19, so they always kept a close eye on me, and are doing the same with this pregnancy.  My BP is already starting to spike some, but not enough for weekly checks yet.  2nd tri will be the kicker for us!

Good luck to all of you!

  • I am!

Except my blood doesn't clot.  Consider yourself lucky?  (if only)

Sounds like you and your physician will have a watchful eye-but remember some of it is out of your control!  Enjoy being yourself, being Pregnant!

  • Yep!  I have a third degree heart block--I have a pacemaker to manage it.  I also enjoy the extra visits and ultrasounds.  It helps to stay positive Smile

  • Yes, because I have a form of Lupus.

  • I was told today by an RN at the WIC office that I'm considered high risk by the state because I'm not gaining any weight... Huh? My OB says I'm "medium risk" because GD runs in my family and I may have it, too.
