Re: When did you start wearing Maternity Clothes

  • Today!  So, 14w3d

I will be switching between maternit and regular for a while, but I am soooo much more comfortable now!

  • I wear scrubs at work so I probably won't have to switch out of them for a while.  I wore my first maternity outfit Sunday - 12 weeks 4 days.

  • I've got maternity jeans on right now. They are a little big, and fall down a little. BUT they don't cut into my tummy, and they aren't as restrictive as the Be Bands. I'm still in my normal shirts, just the longer ones that I owned. I can't wear many of my regular shirts because they're too short.

  • 13 weeks for pants. I am going to try to go as long as possible in regular shirts.

  • At 11 wks. If you want to count the BeBand, I had to wear that at 8 wks
  • still switching back and fourth at 15 weeks, but def out of my regular jeans!

  • I'm only in maternity tops right now - I can't hold up the pants yet.  But I started wearing the tops at 13 weeks I think?

  • Also still switching back and forth now...but I'm pretty much out of my regular shirts, except for t-shirts/sweatshirts, and only one pair of regular jeans still fits.

  • I am still in regular clothes but I am a size8/10 to start.  I didn't start really showing wtih my first until I was 20+ weeks.  I was hoping to start showing earlier with this one but so far I just look the same with the exception that I look like I put on a couple pounds but can't tell it is a baby bump yet.

  • still regular shirts, switch back and forth b/w maternity & regular pants.  however, after this surgery, my belly is awfully swollen, so i am sure i will have to wear maternity pants now.
  • I started switching back and forth somewhere within 11 weeks when I'd put on a pair of pants in the morning and they were too tight and restrictive.  Now I'm all in maternity clothes - I'd rather be comforable than trying to readjust all day to feel good.
  • With DS I switched to maternity pants around 15w.  This time I'm hating them, so I just bought real jeans a size or two bigger and they work and I don't have to pull them up all day or have them sag.  I have a feeling I'll wait awhile for tops too.  I just bought a  lot of shirts and dresses that I could wear while pregnant that weren't maternity b/c I find they look a lot better.  At the end when you're really big that's a different story!

  • I started strictly wearing maternity pants around 14w...by then, my regular jeans unzipped all the way down with a belly band were sooo uncomfortable, especially while flying!

  • I'm still in regular clothes. It's kinda depressing, considering I am 17 weeks! I guess I should be thankful I haven't had to spend any money though. :)

  • Still in regular clothes, although I will probably have to start using a Bella Band next week (I was a size 0/2 pre pregnancy and always had to wear belts, just skipping belts now)

  • I bought my first few pairs of dress pants, a skirt, and a pair of jeans just the other day and boy am I comfy!  I could probably still fit in a few pairs of my other pants with the beband, but the mat. bottoms are so much more comfortable.  I felt like it was too early, but now I'm not thinking that at all!

  • I started wearing some shirts around 13weeks, but pants just recently at 15weeks. I still alter btwn regular clothes and maternity- I usually just wear what's comfortable.

  • I started wearing maternity jeans somewhere around 13 weeks I think - I couldn't stand sitting at work with my pants unbuttoned! Every time someone needed me for something I would have to stand up and zip up - not cool.

A good friend of mine lent me her maternity jeans by Citizens of Humanity, and putting them on was like a breathe of fresh air - literally, because I could breathe! All I could think was "why have I been torturing myself for the past two weeks!". I wish I had them even sooner. There is no reason to be uncomfortable.

I went out and bought myself a couple of less expensive pairs from Old Navy, and have been happy as a clam ever since. The full band pants are where it's at! It helps them stay up when they're loose in the beginning. Personally, I do not like the Be Band at ALL. And sicne you can buy these jeans for as little as $35, I don't see the point in wasting money on the band.

I have a couple maternity tops but I can still wear a lot of my shirts since the flowy look has been in - so I have a lot of stuff that works. But I do rock tight tank tops because I'm proud of my bump!

  • I got into the pants kind of early--like 12 or 13 weeks?  I am just now starting to require the tops.  It's definitely more than just bloat these days!

  • I've bought quite a bit of maternity clothes, but I'm still wearing my regular clothes at 15 weeks. My pants do feel a tiny bit more snug though, so I have a feeling I'll be switching to maternity clothes very soon! Getting excited to start showing b/c I plan on telling our extended family and friends the news after our appt. tomorrow, as long as everything is still going great! :)
  • At 15 weeks, I do not have an answer for that yet.  My tops seem slightly shorter than usual, which wouldn't be an issue except that I am doing the rubber band trick on my jeans.  Luckily all my work skirts fit just fine (I don't wear pants to work, not my style).  So since I only wear jeans on the weekend, I just make sure to wear my extra long tops then as well.
