TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Excellent Sermon (religion mentioned)

Hey ladies, my friend goes to this great church and I listen to podcasts of their sermons quite a bit.  After this Sunday's service she texted me and told me I had to listen because it was a sermon just for me.  I don't know everyone's religious preference and don't want to offend, but I wanted to share this positive message with you all.  Here is the link to the church's resource section https://www.c3church.com/resources/ and you'd click on the podcasts and it is the podcast from yesterday.  The series they are working on now is called Super Natural and they are focusing on the miraculous things God can do.  It was powerful for me and I thought you may enjoy it as well.

I hope everyone's having a great day.

  • Oh, ummmm, I'm not sure what to say here. As an atheist, I'm pretty offended you'd post this here, good intentions or not. And I'm reasonably sure that while there are plenty of ladies on here who have embraced their religious views during their tough times, there are just as many who are not currently on speaking terms with their god(s).

Can we agree to keep this place agnostic? That'd be pretty groovy.

  • Maybe I no longer belong here and that's why this post is rubbing me the wrong way... but sermons about all the miraculous things God CAN do only reminds me that He sat back and did SQUAT for me.

I know you meant well, but this was quite hurtful.

  • IMHO, there are two topics that don't belong on the boards:  religion and politics.  Both are just way to emotionally charged.

While I agree completely with this, these subjects always work their way in, and I think she gave plenty of notice to anyone who didn't want to open the post.  Just my opinion.

  • I'm sorry ladies if this offended anyone, that certainly wasn't my intention, which is why I made certain to indicate this was a post regarding religion so those who had strong feelings regarding religous beliefs wouldn't even need to read the post if they chose not too.  For me the bump boards have been a source of comfort and support.  People have offered that support in warm thoughts, kind words, poems, videos, pictures and prayers.  I found some personal comfort and support through the sermon I heard this morning and thought it may give someone else comfort.

  • This board is about sharing and supporting.  We have a wide range of topics and we don't always agree.  Religion is just another topic.

She warned those which is probably more than what I would have done because I would have expected those not interested to just ignore it and move on.  She meant no harm.

I know first hand there are some that find comfort from posts such as Maceymay's post.

I find some of your responses to be harsh which is a first for me. I could not keep quiet on this one.

Please recognize we all find comfort and support in different ways.  This post may not be for you, but it may be for someone else....like me.
