Fussiness - VENT!

I am going to lose my mind.  Faelen has been so damn fussy for about two weeks now and it's exhausting.  For the first three months of his life he was an easy-going non-fussy baby, and then this.  Nothing works.  He's happy and smiling and "talking" for about 5-10 minutes after he eats or sleeps, but all the rest of his awake time he just fusses, no matter what I do.  He fusses on the playmat, he fusses in the swing, he fusses in the exersaucer, he fusses in the carrier (unless we go somewhere, then he'll be fine for about 45 minutes as long as I keep moving, but I can't go somewhere different every time he's awake), he fusses when I'm holding him, you get the picture.  He doesn't fuss if we go for a walk, but it's so hot during the day and we can only do that in the morning and evening.  He's gets plenty of sleep (mom, not so much).  All signs point to teething (excessive drooling, hand and toy biting, occasional crankiness while nursing, more night waking) but I know it's on the early side.  He's never had a fever, but we're going to the pedi tomorrow morning because I'm going insane.

Anyway, that is all; just wanted to vent.   Sad

  • I'm sorry you are having to deal with this but take comfort in knowing you aren't the only one. DS is still a fussy baby. I can remember 1 day. 1 DAY where he was happy until the late afternoon and he cried a little but the rest of the day he was perfect. It seems like he cries all the freaking time at home. If I'm not sitting almost right next to him on the floor as he plays he cries. This afternoon he started just getting extrememly cranky and I put a little reminder to talk to the pedi about this. I even thought so far as to ask for a CAT scan to see if there's something crazy going on internally. He had surgery at 4 months old and I can just see something being left behind. I have an imaginative mind... Hope it gets better for you and doesn't last as long as it has for me...

  • Sorry :-(  I would bet teething or growth spurt.  DS started teething at 2 months and we still haven't seen teeth yet (he'll be 4 mos next week) so it could be awhile.
