STTN Advice Needed

Good morning.  My LO has been great about STTN for about a month now.  In the last couple of days she has been having a hard time.  What happens is that she rolls over and can't roll back on her back and then gets frustrated.  When we go to roll her back over she then wakes up and wants food.  She has been great about STTN and we have not been needing to feed her in the middle of the night so we let her cry for a couple of minutes and then she went back to sleep.  But I feel HORRIBLE because when she woke up this morning she was really hungry (more than normal) and ate 8 ounces.  Should we just feed her in the middle of the night or does that set up a middle of the night feeding standard. Thanks in advance.

  • When we went through the same thing I fed her after trying the pacifier and rocking first.  Now she just stays asleep on he belly if she rolls over and has stopped waking so it didn't start any habitual feeding time.

  • DS has just started doing the rolling over and waking up thing too!  He is a tummy sleeper though, and rolls to his back and starts crying.  I don't think there is a solution to this problem unfortunately - until they figure out how to roll both ways.  I don't know about the feeding though - DS still eats every 3 hours around the clock!

  • Thanks Ladies. We tried the pacifier and it worked for a few minutes but not long. We have been doing modified CIO, but don't want cause issues in any way.  But we know she can STTN.
