IVF billing question

Is the CPT used to bill the monitoring appts for IUI cycles the same as the code used for monitoring during IVF?

Re: IVF billing question

  • My IUI monitoring was billed as: 76857/US PELV B-SCAN &OR REAL TIME W

    So yes - the same!

    Married 08.06
    Started TTC 05.08
Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH
    DH: perfect
    1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p
    2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!

    1 FET in Aug 2013 = BFP!

  • woohoo!!! That is great news.  I have to check with my office too but I think my monitoring is covered (minus co pays)!  That saves around $1,500!

  • Awesome! The one thing I didn't add - the IVF monitoring also includes a charge for the bloodwork - which is something I did not have done while be monitored for IVF. It is 82670/ESTRADIOL
