I will be 10 weeks tomorrow and my belly is definitely rounder. I don't think it is because I am pregnant though! I think it is because since I found out I am pregnant I have switched my eating habits and now eat whatever I want when I want it.
My husband is excited that I am looking rounder but I am not and keep telling him it is bc I am fat right now! I don't feel like I should be showing much of any changes at 10 weeks - is this right or wrong?
Am I being too hard or myself or should I put down the pizza?
Re: Almost 10 weeks and kind of showing - anyone else?
It's bloat. I didn't really start showing with my first until about 20 weeks.
I'm in the same boat. I'm looking rounder but I know it's probably just bloat and my newly bad eating habits since now I'm just eating whatever doesn't make me gag. Last week when I hit 9 weeks I was just able to close these jeans although it was uncomfortable. Today I hit 10 weeks and couldn't even close them.
I do think pregnancy has caused my hips to get wider so that accounts for some of my "thickness". But, honestly, I'm really trying not to stress it because a) once we get past this nauseous, sick time, our eating habits will probably improve, and b) I know that once I have this baby, I'll lose some of the fat through breastfeeding and I can work the rest off at the gym. It may take a few months but it's totally doable.
i am in the same spot as you! i keep thinking it's a little bump but as pp said i think it's just bloat and all those carbs i'm eating!! ohwell!!! i have to eat more now to keep off the m/s and i'm embracing the fact that it doesn't matter if i gain a little weight! my girlfriend is 20 weeks and said she lost a few pounds after her first tri cause she didn't have to eat as much and was eating just healthy stuff so i'm also banking on that.
let's hope we start showing soon!
It's bloat, but mine has taken on a lovely round bump-like quality, so I'm owning it.
I figure, without the baby I wouldn't have the bloat so this counts.
It makes me feel less stupid when I stand sideways in the mirror and talk to my belly.
Good to know I'm not the only one...
I hit 10 weeks yesterday and I'm definitely expanding... but I think from the same reasons! The only thing that doesn't make me gag to think about eating is ice cream & doughnuts (bring on the cliches!)
Yesterday I put on a normally lose fitting top and you could see my belly... although it was not a cute pregnancy belly, it was a little too much ice cream belly!
I feel "fat" sometimes, but when I let myself think like that I just shut off those voices... I'm giving in to whatever changes my body makes! I just hope after I'm out of my first trimester healthy eating won't turn me off so much!
This. I have a pretty small waist so the bloat is making me look pregnant at 5 weeks lol, I cannot zip up my pants. DH is loving it even though I told him it's just bloat.
I have the same thing going on with me. Honestly, I sort of hate when everyone is quick to respond that it's bloat and not the baby. Who cares! You wouldn't be rounder if you weren't pregnant. So for me, I'm showing my pregnancy.
