Solid foods... how much does your 8 month old eat?

Just curious as to what your schedules are! :)

Re: Solid foods... how much does your 8 month old eat?

  • A jar of stage 2 fruits for lunch and a jar of stage 2 veggies for dinner. LO has hated all stage 3 we have tried so we are just sticking with a few stage 2 foods he does like for right now. He also will have a few finger foods with his meals too. (Puffs, cheerios, bread, cheese, etc.) We are just practicing with finger foods for right now while he grasps how to do it. We tried adding a 3rd solid meal in for breakfast but he didn't like it so we're just sticking with 2 meals. He also gets anywhere from 3-5 8 ounce bottles a day.

  • Breakfast Oatmeal + fruit

    Lunch veggies + quinoa

Dinner veggies plus a fruit for dessert.

I make my own, so she eats 2-3 cubes for lunch plus a tbsp of so of quinoa

2-3 cubes for dinner plus 2 cubes of fruit

Oatmeal (with fruit) is maybe a 1/4 cup or a little less

ETA: she nurses in between all of those and takes a bottle of pumped milk at 7pm for bed time and STTN

  • DS is eating 3 meals a day now.  I mix oatmeal in all of his foods now because he likes it on the thick side rather than runny.

Breakfast: oatmeal and a fruit mixed with oatmeal

Lunch: A veggie mixed with oatmeal

Dinner depends on how hungry he is.  Lately, he's been eating 2 jars, either a veggies or a veggie and something like turkey w/sweet potatoes.

  • ds is not sstn so in addtion to the following schedule he nurses 2-3 times a night.

8:30ish stage 2 fruit w/ oatmeal or yogurt

    nap around 10:30-12

    12:30ish nurse

1:00ish cheese, raisins, lunch meat, yogurt, applesauce, stage 2 fruit or veggie, toast w/ butter - some combo of those

    nap around 3

    4ish nurse

6ish some of what we're eating for dinner plus stage 2 veggie

    8ish nurse, then bed

  • We don't have much of a schedule because it's different every day! DD is on the small side so we still nurse a lot during the day and night.

She eats breakfast and dinner which is usually only 1/3-1/2 of a stage 2 fruit and vegetable :( She doesn't seem to have much interest in solids and it worries me!

  • I BF and make her own food, so I don't have exact measurements for everything.

    6 am: nurse

    8:30: 1/4 c oatmeal + 2 cubes of fruit

11:00: 5 oz bottle of bm

    1:00: 3 cubes of veggies + tofu

    4:00: nurse

    7:00: nurse

I've been trying to add in a dinner meal, but DD isn't interested.  She also has some finger foods with her meals like puffs.

  • DD is 7.5 months.  She nurses on demand and is up to about 2oz of solids at dinner time.
