I have never been to a M2M shindig before. Any pointers you can give me? How do you know which ones to avoid? And we are team green now, so I don't need clothes, but am looking for a baby gate for now, where should I look to find that?

I went to my first one a few weeks ago - there is a website you can check out, it'll tell you how big it's suppose to be.

Get there early - the good stuff gets snatched up early. We got there a quarter to before it opened and there was already a line.

There was a TON of clothing - TONS AND TONS of clothing. Compared to what else they had to offer baby wise - clothing was 90:1. Just be ready for a big crowd, lots of people looking for the same things.

There was an area designated for "bigger items" but that was strollers, pack 'n plays, outside toys. As far as a baby gate, I'd say that you're just going to have to keep your eyes open on the tables to see if someone brought one. Or ask the other tables if they know someone there selling one. They often were able to point us in the correct direction when we were searching out things.

My pointers are to know what you are looking for when you go in and to either print out some comparable prices or to just know the price it is. Also I suggest making sure to buy toys that have batteries in them so that you know they work.

I know the area you are in so I tend to like the ones in macomb and rochester. They seem to have some of the most popular toys and are in good condition.

I might try and go to a m2m tomorrow and I was thinking the St Thecia one. It is one of the largest ones and last year it was crazy when I went. Tons of toys/tables/people. I haven't looked for gates so I am not sure on that.

Mostly I like the smaller ones sales with maybe 45 tables. I can get in and out fast and I don't feel overwhelmed and can shop around for the best price.

Last weekend I went to one and got 4 items for a total of 7.50. I knew the prices of these items before hand and they would have cost me about 65 total if I bought new.

Go super early, and get in line. The place will be a complete zoo. A lot don't allow strollers until 2 hours after it starts because it gets so busy. I was going to go to one tomorrow but decided i didn't want to deal with it honestly. But the deals are amazing.

I was going between the St Thecla one and the one at Atwood Elementary for tomorrow. We attempted the St Thecla one a couple years ago and it was so crazy 30 minutes prior to it opening that we left and went to breakfast, so I'm nervous about that one. I might try Atwood for my first attempt

What does 'eb' mean? Some say Adm $1/$2eb, or they open earlier for 'eb'.

Julie and I are Mom to Mom sale professionals

The only other tips I have are:

1. Bring reusable bags if you have them. Julie and I usually bring at least two to each sale. It it so much easier to throw everything in them then to carry around a bunch of shopping bags.

2. Don't bring a purse... I usually bring a swingpack, or even just a small change purse with money in it.

3. Julie and I ALWAYS get coffee on the way, and then we bring it in and get annoyed and end up throwing it away. So if you want to get food/drink before, I recommend finishing it in the car

umm like last weekend after I had only had about two sips. And it you want to call what you did throwing it out....... I will say those french toast sticks are yummy. May have to get some on the way to the zoo sunday for DH's race.

I have been going to alot of them. I went to one in Chesterfield last weekend. I don't like to go alone, so I probably will skip tomorrow and then hopefully figure something for next weekend. I have gotten a bunch of stuff for a small price, usually gap or expensive stuff for $1/$2 piece.

Thanks for posting this. I was thinking of checking it out, maybe the one in Clawson next weekend. My shower is not for another few weeks but i don't think anything over $50 will be bought so i thought of checking out swings, bouncers, things like that. For those who went today, how did it go?

Just bargin in here...Mark your calendars, the Greater Oakland Mothers of Multiples is having their fall sale on October 16th at Lake Orion High school. I think the times are from 9am to 1pm. Whats cool about this sale is that it is department store style which means all the like stuff will be in the same areas sorted by size and category. So if you want shoes, you go to the shoe section. You don't have to go to each vendors table like a typical M2M sale.
