Made the maternity pants switch!

I went to Motherhood and was too embarrassed to say I was only 9 weeks along though and fibbed and said 10. Embarrassed I guess that extra week made it better in my head or something. Regardless the girl there was so nice and said "oh no...really by 8 weeks your pants are too snug from all the bloat so you're right on time". I heard their clothes aren't the best quality but I don't have much to choose from and am on a budget. Plus I'm short and Kohl's and Penneys had nothing. I ended up with 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pr. khakis, and 2 pairs dress/work pants for $150. I didn't think it was too awful. It feels like you're wearing dressy sweatpants they're so comfy!!! It was amazing to just have her fill up the dressing room and EVERYTHING fit. I'm short and hard to fit usually and hate shopping because it seems like out of 10 pairs of pants I try on 1 might fit and usually still need hemmed. Yay!

Re: Made the maternity pants switch!

  • Dont you love them? I went to target and put on a size 4 maternity pair of jeans because they were out of 6s and to my suprise they fit perfectly ;) I only have 1 pair so I'm gonna need to go buy a few more very very soon! I need to go to motherhood maternity, doesn't sound too expensive and I don't have much to choose from either. :)

  • Great finds! I have had really good luck at Motherhood too, although I haven't been buying pants just yet (I use a BeBand). Their bras can be very nice, and certainly worth the $20 in comparison to Target bras. I'm never impressed by the quality at Old Navy, which is the only place that seems any cheaper. I like the way the MM stuff seems to fit my growing curves well, and seems like it will grow with me too. And it's nice to have staff that actually knows about the items and your needs, versus the other stores where no one even helps.
  • I loved Motherhood Matenity! They were so nice and helpful. I really just wanted a belly band, and ended up getting that, a shirt, and three pairs of pants for $70. And I got all this free stuff for being a first-time mom, including a $20.00 gift card to shutterfly.com...getting my baby shower invites there!
  • Yeah, it's great! She asked what I was looking for and what size I was pre-pg. I told her I needed some jeans, work pants, and khakis, and it was like the perfect pants just appeared in the dressing room! I "splurged" and got one pr. of jeans that were $40, but it seemed like a lot of the pants were around $24. I liked that they were all true to size it seemed between each other (they do S, M, and L) I hate shopping at Kohls and I'm a 6 in some pants and a 12 in others. I was using a beband until now but it just kept feeling SO constricting. It fits fine, but it seemed like I had to do the 1/2 under the pants with 1/2 folded over so they felt like they were staying in place and it just started feeling so aggravating. I was getting so pissed off at my pants every time I had to use the bathroom or was sitting there and feel my zipper slide down a little more. I have a $50 gc from ON still from the groupon special they were having a while back so I'll check on some tops there.

  • I switched today too and WOW!  I am soooooo comfortable.  I also got a size 4 because I didnt think size 2 would fit.

I got some cute shirts a Motherhood and love them.

  • I too bought my stuff around 10 weeks. I love the Heidi Klum pants. They are all the "low" fit without the panel. They can be worn post maternity too :)

I was impressed with the service and I was at the outlet. Maternity Works is the outlet, they sell Motherhood, Pea in the Pod, and others.

I bought clothes from Motherhood too, I was pretty impressed with how much I got for what I paid; I found most of the stuff on the clearance rack. They don't have to be super high quality, it's not like you're going to wear them for years! ;) I checked out another website and was appalled at the prices, eg: $200 for a pair of jeans!! Seriously, I have never spent that much $$$ on one pair of pants. I'd rather buy something nice for the baby with the money I save shopping elsewhere :)
