In-home daycare rec's?

Does anyone here use or know of in-home daycare options in either East Kendall/Dadeland or Homestead, especially that would be willing to take a baby early (I have to go back to work at 4 weeks, but flying in family/using every last drop of DH's vacation will probably allow us to push to at least 6-8w) and possibly part time- like 3 days a week? I tried to search the board to see if anyone had asked this before, but apparently I can't use the search function ("daycare" brought up 0 hits... which clearly can't be right!) so I'll take any advice on that too :) Thanks!

And on a rant-y side note... I can't believe no one ever mentions that certain businesses are exempt from FMLA! Okay, they do, but I was under the impression (wrongly) that it was only extremely small companies and executives, but... not true, or at least my idea of "extremely small" was pretty innaccurate. Sigh.

  • Posting from my iPhone & trying to make the above link clicky (didn't work)! Anyhow- my little goes to a liscensed home provider & I love it. I live in nw dade though, if not I'd totally recommend her. Go to the dcf website, click provider search & you'll be able to pit in your address & find all the providers in your neighborhood. You might get lucky @ find a great one around the corner! Good luck!!!
  • Matthew is in an in house daycare and I couldn't be any happier.  His "teacher" is amazing and so loving.  I leave him there with my eyes closed.  Nana is in West Kendall and I believe that she has a spot available.  I know you're looking for someone by Dadeland, but making the drive out west is worth it.  Let me know if you want her info.  BTW, I totally recommend the the DCF website listed by pp!

  • perfect! thanks so much :)
