To start a baby book for Caroline? For a long time I had no interest in doing one for her, but now as time goes on I find that I'm forgetting so much about what she used to do, her milestones, etc. I don't think I had one (or at least I don't remember ever seeing it) so maybe that's why I didn't care about it at first. Most of her stuff is on the blog so I'll be able to go back to the beginning and hopefully get caught up, plus I also have my dayplanners from '08 and '09 when I was pregnant with her and when she was born.
I definitely want to start one for the next baby and don't want Caroline to feel left out either.
WDYT?
Also, any suggestions on books? I know this has been talked about before but it's been awhile and I'm no good on the search function.
Re: Is it too late?
I definitely think you should do one. I have one that is half completed and I wish it was done. Especially now that I have K.
There are a bunch of super cute baby books on etsy. But there are cheaper options on Amazon. I even saw some super cute ones in the Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Depot and Marshalls.
When you say it is only half completed, what do you mean? How old do most books go?
Not all the info from the first year is filled out. There are blank pages, incomplete pages, and I think three pages that are fully completed.
K's baby book covers the first year and then each birthday until 5.
I love Ian's baby book. A friend bought one for her granddaughter (that one was with the swarzoski crystals and such...we went for the cheaper version). I didn't like the pages in the other books, but this one offers lots of "memo" space to write what you want plus the usual stuff too. But I'm more into the antiquey looking stuff anyway.
Either way, I think its never too late to start one.
I don't think it's too late, especially since you have the blog and planners to help you with dates and info. My mom made me a baby book when I was little, but when we were moving once and had our stuff in storage, the facility caught on fire and no more baby book. My little brother had one, and it always bothered me that I didn't. So, my mom scrapbooked me a baby book for my high school graduation. I loved it.
I plan to get a calendar to keep in Kari's room, and write her moments and milestones in as an extra way to get everything down. One of my best friends did that with her little boy, and I always loved going in his room to see the calendar.
I say it's definitely not too late. Especially since you have most of her milestones recorded on your blog anyway.
I'll tell you what. My mother has my Baby Book and won't give it to me. Right now, as I'm working on my baby's book, I wish I had my own to compare to.
I think Caroline would like to have/read her book as she grows older.
I use "The Belly Book". It's easy to complete, it includes a lot of information. My only dislike is that I need another book as baby gets into her/his first/second/third years.

Better late than never
My mom gave me my baby book and a photo album from when I was a baby when Caroline was born and I love having them. That being said, I guess I should start filling out the one that has been sitting under our coffee table. I filled out maybe 2 pages prior to her birth and have done nothing since.
