Ok, I'm working with a Napro Dr. so my situation is a little different than most, but I think you guys will be able to answer my question anyway...
I have LP spotting for close to a week before AF finally comes and my practitioner says that this is due to low progesterone, so she put me on prometrium and said to take it orally at night. Long story short, I think my spotting may actually have gotten a little worse... but it def. didn't get any better! This month AF actually came four days before I was supposed to go off the progesterone. I thought progesterone was supposed to keep AF from showing up!
Anyway, my question is... has anyone ever had AF show up while they were on progesterone? And if you are diagnosed with LPD (which I am not at this point but suspect I will be) what if anything were you able to do to fix it? <--- I guess that might be a question for SAIF, I'll try to head over there too...
Thanks...
Re: Progesterone supplement questions...
I had LP spotting that started right after ovulating and lead right up to me getting AF. My LP was about 9-10 days long. My RE doesn't diagnose LPD (he said it's an old school dx?) but I had the symptoms.
The only thing that helped for me was the combination of Clomid or injectables with progesterone after trigger. For my IUI cycles I was on a vaginal type of PIO and then for my IVF cycles I was on PIO. During my IUI cycles, AF would start to come even though I was on the progesterone, but she didn't come until about 13dpiui, and I didn't spot before that.
Good luck!
