Babies: 6 - 9 Months

I can't play peek-a-boo with DD :(

She always knows where I am! Like...if I'm hiding behind my hands, she moves my hands away in order to see me! I think I waited a little too long to start playing peek-a-boo with her, but everything says the best age is 6 months....Tongue Tied

  • She is playing with you! she is finding Mommy :)

  • Lily does the same thing.

It was always my understanding that the "point" of peek-a-boo is to teach babies that things exist when you can't see them. Her critical thinking skills are in over-drive!

If you cover a toy with a cup or blanket, will she move the cup/blanket to find the toy? That's great!

Keep playing, though....Lily likes for me to "scare" her and will sometimes allow me to play with her just so she can hear me say "Boo!"

Also, try playing around the corner to another room. That will help her understand that when you leave the room you'll be back eventually.  Smile

This is a test. This is only a test.
  • Yes, she can find a toy when I hide it, too. The weird thing is that she just started having separation anxiety, which doesn't make sense since it seems like she knows where things are when I hide them. Who knows.
