pre-preg pants. how are you doing?

how are you guys doing with fitting into your old wardrobe?

i just went on a pre-preg pant trying on extravaganza. right now i can only comfortably wear the stuff that used to be my "baggy comfy weekend" pants. well, my cute, tight pants finally fit on over my hips and ass, but they still don't zip or button. at least i now have hope that my body isn't irrevocably changed. losing these last 9 pounds will hopefully do the trick. . .i so miss my clothes!

Re: pre-preg pants. how are you doing?

  • I'm two weeks out, and still can't get my loose jeans up past my hips. I hope that I will be able to fit into my jeans by the time the weather changes. I am REALLY tired of maternity clothes!

  • I haven't even tried yet. Too scared to! I'll maybe attempt in a couple of weeks.

  • nope, not in mine...had to go buy some inbetween clothes 2 sizes bigger :(  I was sick of maternity pants.
  • I'm about 2 lbs below my pre-preg weight, and my pants all fit, I just have a muffin top and jiggly belly(so, they really aren't as comfortable as they were pre-preg). I have my 6 week appointment next week and am looking forward to getting clearance to work out and get rid of this extra flab!
  • Nowhere close! I go b2w on Monday and had to buy new work clothes,

All of my pre preg pants are sizes 4 or 6, my current size: 10

So I guess I'll be shopping again when I can fit into an 8, ugh

  • I can wear some, but not others. My hips and the stretchiness of the pants seem to be the deciding factors. Hips are still a little wide for my favorite jeans, but I was able to button some dressier jeans and I can wear some of my dress pants (although they are my "fat" dress pants from when I was a little heavier). I did try on some pregnancy capris yesterday and they are WAY big, so I was encouraged by that!

  • I am going to say it and don't be angry but I was in my pre-pregnancy clothes about a week after I had her.  I gained 21 lbs and it was all out front and in some major water retention....Two weeks after I had her I was 1.5 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight....

  • Have been wearing them since 1 week after giving birth.

The only thing that I am having trouble with is some of my shirts. I am EBF and my boobs are ginormous so a lot of them are pretty tight through the chest area. I feel like I keep wearing the same few shirts over and over.

  • I'm 2 weeks out and I could get my pants on, buttoned, and zipped at 1 week PP.  However with that said it was NOT PRETTY!!!!  I would never dream of wearing them out! :)

I've got about 14lbs to go until my pre-pg weight.

  • Just yesterday I was able to get them zipped and buttoned, but I had a major muffin top. I will not be wearing them in public anytime soon.

  • My mat clothes are HUGE... most of my pre-preg pants are too tight... but a couple pairs of jeans fit.  sigh.  I'm mostly living in sweats these days

  • I was 6 weeks post-pregnancy yesterday.  I'm down 31 lbs. from when I delivered, but I still have 29 to go according to the drs office and 49 to go from where I should be.  That being said, I can wear a few t-shirts if they are size L and even then they are not flattering.  I cannot fit into any of my pre-pregnancy pants, I can't even get them up over my upper thighs/hips!!!  So, I'm still living in maternity pants...(and shirts if I want to wear more than t-shirts).  I plan on going through the closet next week to see what tops I can wear.  I go back to work in two weeks so I'll have to buy some clothes for in-between sizes.  I was a size 8/10 (I'm 5'8") before and I'm probably a size 16/18 now.  I can't wait to get back in shape, just got the ok this week!

  • I feel the same way about my clothes. I have 10 lbs left to loose.  I can fit into my leggins, and stretchy pants.  I haven't attempted my jeans yet.  I don't want to feel bad.

  • I'm gonna be wicked immature and a major pissy pants right now:

I hate all of you who fit into your pre-pg stuff now.  I gained 47 lbs during pregnancy (I was in perfect shape prior) and I am still not fitting into ANYTHING.  I was a 6/8 and now I'm a 12 (probably should be a 14, but I refuse).  I can't even get my pre-pg jeans past my lower thighs.

I hate my body right now.

  • I lost all my weight the first few days (only gained 19lbs & half of that was my big baby). Then was 10lbs under my pre-preg weight at 1.5 weeks. I tried my old jeans on at 2 weeks & I could button them, but most of them weren't flattering.. still too much flab that gave me a muffin top. 2 pairs look good & I have been wearing them a lot.

I actually tried the smaller pairs on again today & they were much better. I still won't wear those out, but its encouraging to know I'm getting there. Now that I am cleared (& feel comfortable) working out, I don't think it will be too much longer. Just gotta tighten up my abs!

  • I was back in my pre-pg stuff after a week.  Embarrassed  Please don't hate me.  I gained 21 lbs with DD, and I had lost 23 by the time I left the hospital.

My mom kept telling me that she was back in her regular clothes right after she had my brother and me.  I figured she wasn't remembering correctly, but I think we just have lucky genes.

  • No. Just no. Tried them on three weeks back and it was not pretty. Even the stuff that used to be baggy doesn't button. I didn't weigh myself the last three months of pregnancy, so I don't know how much I've lost. But I am still probably two sizes up from where I was. Shirts don't fit either because my boobs are enormous from EBF.

  • Ha ha ha.

I tend to gain a lot of weight in my hips and butt when I'm pg too.

I'm now able to fit and button jeans in a size 12. Pre-pg I'm a size 6. I still have a long way to go.

I'm with you -- coming up on 7 weeks pp and just have a jiggly belly but I felt into everything.  I've been hitting the gym and am hoping the belly will bounce back into shape quickly. *fingers crossed*

  • 2 days PP I was back in pre-pregancy pants and 13 days PP in pants I couldn't even fit before I was pregnant.

I know how you feel!!! I gained 62 lbs and was in pretty good shape when I got pregnant (minus the 10 lbs. I gained in one week from quitting the pill--water weight?).  Anyway, needless to say, none of my pre-pregnancy pants go over my lower thighs either!!!

  • I guess I was blessed with good genetics, because despite gaining 40lbs I am just about back down to my regular weight and my stomach is pretty much back to its old self (with a lingering linea negra). However, my hips are definitely wider which means only a handful of my old pants fit. I don't really mind though - I had really narrow, boyish hips pre-pregnancy so I'm really loving my new feminine figure. I must be some sort of freak because I actually think I like my postpartum body even better than my old body (though that may change after I wean and lose the pornstar boobs, lol).
  • I just tried mine on today and, well, I could button and zip them but BOY were they uncomfortable -- everything squished out the top! I think I'll stick to my lounge and sweat pants for a bit longer.

I'm still up 15 lbs. from my pre-PG weight. I'll start WW once my doc clears me -- I'm still recovering from some complications from delivery.

  • This....i only gained 13 lbs so everything fit a week later, but i have a lot of toning to do!

  • I'm in mine already and my previous tight pants are looser on me now.  I am also 5 lbs less than my pre-PG weight.  I fully attribute this to being on the GD diet.

  • Poeple are going to hate me too. I'm around 25 pounds below my prepregnancy weight, so now I'm wearing the pants I wore last time I was this weight.... when we got married. I could fit into my regular prepregnancy jeans at 10 days out (I was 10 pounds under at that point.)

I only gained 10 or so pounds, though, and DD was almost 10 pounds at birth. I was all baby, all out front.

However, my shape has changed a bit. My waist is not as small as it was last time I was this weight; it's only an inch smaller than it was prepregnancy, and still jiggly and flabby.

This is me too. Some of my fat clothes fit me, but I'd like to have another inch or two in the rest of them. I don't like to feel like I am squeezed in my pants.
