So, one of my best GF's is pregnant. A little over 10 weeks. She had an appointment today and they couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. I'm thinking this is pretty normal (I hope). I seem to remember they didn't even try with me until into my second tri? Am I wrong?

Anyway... they are going to give it a go again Monday. Meantime, I am trying to talk her into an ultrasound. She does not want one unless it is medically necessary. Nor any testing. She lives in CA and is researching home birthing and the like.

If you could just keep her in your thoughts and prayers, I would appreciate it.

    Dana,

    My OB couldn't find Aaron's heartbeat at my 10 week appt.  I freaked and went for an u/s (which I ended up paying for OOP).  Obviously all was OK.

    But I'm thinking of your friend and hope it's just like my experience.

    Thinking of your friend.  Early pregnancy is so scary.

    Lots of prayers for your friend! MY ob attempted to find the hb at 10 weeks and he couldn't. He told me it was way too early and not to worry. Well, I wish he didn't even tried because I was a mess for the next month. At my next appt. he found it. It was the longest month of my life!

    I actually thought the heart beat could first be heard sometime between 10-12 weeks on doppler or maybe even later.  I know it seemed like ages from when we saw it on the U/S at 7 weeks to when we could hear it.  Lots of good juju going her way!
