I previously drove an older style 4runner and now drive a Land Rover. I'm not sure what we would have done without it. The third row of seats folds into the floor so we can fit the double stroller in the back with tons of room for groceries, diaper bags, etc. With two in car seats it also let's us have room for 4 adults, too, with the 3rd row. We test drove the Sequioa too but the LR drove closer to a car I thought.
I drive an MDX and it is too big for me, lol! You know you can fit 3 carseats across the first bench of seats! Sorry, no help, but most of my friends who drive bigger cars drive Suburbans, Expeditions, or a minivan. Personally, I want to go down a little to a Toyota Highlander or smaller.
We love the Chevy Traverse-we have the one with the captains chairs in the middle. My sister has he Lexus RX, and she struggles with the fact that now with 2 kids there is no room for the dog, and if they go anywhere with my Mom, she has to drive as well.
I would definitely look into it-we've been really happy with it!
Well, we loved my husband's Tahoe so much we bought one for me too! I love how wide the second row bench seat is. We can fit two car seats and still have enough room for another person to sit in the second row as well. Not many SUV's have a wide enough seat for that. Ours does not have the third row, but that is another option that they have.
ETA: And my DH's Tahoe has over 200,000 miles on it and rarely has a problem - as you can tell, we're sold on them
Mother of a beautiful little boy 11/01/07!
Expecting #2 EDD 9/28/11
What a wonderful surprise!!!
We went from a very troubled, older Jeep (I do not recommend Jeeps!) to a Honda Pilot, and I love it! It's huge, but handles just like my Civic. I can't say enough good things about it!
When we upgraded to a bigger car we needed one that would be able to hold kids (knowing we would be working on a family) as well as our dogs. The black puppy in my siggy is now over 100lbs!
We test drove A LOT but I am absolutely in love with what we picked. We got the Mazda cx9 and it has three rows of seats. We've already used it to cart around a bunch of kids and the back row of seats has even comfortably held a teenager; normally that back row is too cramped! And I love love love the trunk/back space, even with the third row of seats up our dogs can fit fine.
And Mazda in itself we have found to be a very reliable car (this is now our third Mazda) and they tend to put more "goodies" (better stereo system, etc) in their lower models then any other car company so you don't always need top of the line! I've had it about 8 months and I don't have one complaint!

Oh and I forgot to add; the middle row of seats can also fold down completely flat if you need to store something large. It's very very handy especially if you don't own a truck!

I adore my Ford Expedition. Big, comfy, and I feel very safe in it. I bought it new in 2004, but have only driven lightly since it's never been a primary car for either of us. We love it for camping, long trips, etc. It does NOT drive like a car, though. Feels more like a truck - but I like that. This will transition to DH's primary vehicle in a few weeks (he commutes in an Eclipse right now). I also have an RX 350 which I love, but it is definitely less roomy than our Ford.
A close friend with 3 kids has a Sequoia and raves about it.
2 years TTC with 5 losses, 1 year recovering, 6 months applying for adoption approval, and almost a year waiting for a placement. Then, a miracle BFP at age 36!
Personally, I'm into pickups! I like and have a Dodge Mega Cab. The backseat is so huge. Lots of leg room and big seat. I don't have kids of my own but when I cart my nieces and nephew around (one still in carseat), it's really nice. Since it's still me and DH theres lots of room for just about anything we want to put in it.
Perfect timing for this post. I was just telling my DH that I need a bigger car and I really want a SUV with a third row. We will need the room for 2 car seats and a double stroller. Now I have some different SUV's to look at, I still have to talk DH into actually buying one.

My parents have a ford expedition and I have borrowed it a few times. It is big, comfy but definitely drives like a truck. I don't mind this though except parking it which I am sure would come easier with practice.
Without the 3rd row there is a ton of storage and even with the 3rd row in there is still lots.
More Honda Pilot fans over here. We don't need to pop up the 3rd road of seats often so it has loads of storage. It handles really easy, has been very reliable and we love all the big windows (silly thing, I know, but I do!)
Another SUV mom (grandma even) with a recommendation for the Mazda CX-9. I had custody of my granddaughter for several years and bought it while I was toting her and friends on pre-school events. I now use it to tote her, her sister, her mom, my other daughter, her other half, her son, my son... I've used it to take my MIL, FIL, DH and kiddo to Mt. Rainier. I've sat in the back and had my adult son, who is pushing six feet, sit in the back. It's roomy, the back seats fold flat (*all* of them, as a PP mentioned, so you have storage all the way to the driver's seat), the middle seats are adjustable for legroom middle and back. It drives like a car rather than a truck but as a CUV has trucking capabilities as well. The back row seats are split so you can have one up and one down if need be, and the middle row is a 60/40 so you can have multiple seating arrangement options. The middle seat will fold flat for easy access to the back seats *or* they tilt and slide forward. Super, super convenient. And very streamlined and pretty, rather than SUV or trucky looking (though I loved the Explorer I had before it, too.) I haven't met a person yet who hasn't liked it. I actually have a neighbor who bought one that looks just like mine about a year after I bought mine; I bought mine shortly after another neighbor bought hers and raved about it. I've had mine for about 1.5 years - it's a 2008.
I had a Yukon that I loved but it had 80000 miles on it and I wanted a new one. We waited for DS to arrive since we were going to be traveling to get him and didn't want to put the miles on something new. DH was getting a new truck and while we were picking his up we he found a Tahoe for me. Now I actually liked my Yukon better but it is basically the same. I love it. It is awesome to be able to have enough room to be able to put my 8 month old niece in the back with DS and still be able to have both strollers to and gear in the back and have room for 4 adults.

I have a Chevy Suburban. It once held 4 car seats and an another child, plus 2 adults
Also look at the Traverse.
