Babywearers?

Anyone know of a babywearers group in the twin cities area? I'm not a babywearer, but am really interested & completely clueless as far as the different wraps/slings/carriers & have no idea what would work best for DS & me. Any info would be greatly appreciated! TIA

    I am not part of any group & never planned on being a babywearer but I found that I do wear Mr.A a lot more then I would. I have Baby K'Tan & I Love it. It is very easy to put on well I am still holding Mr.A. Last year I wear him a lot in front now that he is older I wear him on my hip I have yet to try where he is on my back but I can wear him up to 42lbs so we have a lot time to go before he will out grow it.

    I've been seriously thinking about getting a k'tan...maybe I should just do it. It's good to know you've been able to wear him for so long - I would love something that lasts into toddler-hood.

    When we meet up you can try mine out. One thing I am glad I did was head over to Baby on Grand and get "sized" before buying one (in story or online) as I would had bought a size larger then I truly needed. 

    Plus if it gets dirty I throw it in the wash

    I second the recommendation for a baby k'tan. I also have an Ergo and think I will like it now that dd is getting a little bigger.

    Check out Peapods (store) in Saint Paul near Grand Avenue. They have several carriers that you can try out. I bought a couple carriers there after trying them out.

    there used to be a babywearer's group, but it kind of dissolved. 

     

    The Parenting Oasis is hosting a sling and carrier swap coming up. There will be lots of people that can help with different carriers and carries in wraps there.

    On Tuesday, October 5, there will be a sling and diaper swap at the Parenting Oasis in Minneapolis.  Sort and cull your stashes and bring your items to be sold and then stay for cafe-style lunch!
