I got a Moby and I'm really excited to try it out, but also extremely nervous. I was looking through the manual and the safety tips freaked me out. She's just so tiny and I don't want anything to happen to her.
But my husband goes back to work Monday and it would make it easier if I could wear her around while at home alone. Any advice or suggestions on biting the bullet and wrapping up a one week out?
Re: Need a pep talk on using a Moby for 1 week old
You'll love weaing your little one trust me. Here are my tips.
First practice a few times with a teddy bear until you get to where you feel comfortable. Also I don't recommend cradle hold because it is really difficult to get the positioning right. I kept to hug hold.
You want the wrap to be tight on you before you put LO in, and I mean tight. The fabric has a lot of stretch to it so the tighter you get it in the beginning the better it will feel on your back later.
And of course some of the basics. Make sure you always keep baby's airway clear, no chin to chest (which is why I don't recommend cradle) you want to always be able to see baby's face. You also want baby to be nice and high, you should be able to easily kiss the top of your baby's head.
Here's a good link if you'd like to know more.
