I wasn't invited to a baby shower because I had m/c's

Yup, you read that right. I was 98% sure I'd get an invite. I saw it was only a few days away and just asked "excited for your shower?"

Friend: "Getting there, it's going to be brutal"

Me: "How so?"

Friend: "Too many people"

Me:  "It'll be good, think of the gifts"

Friend: "Sorry I didn't invite you, I knew you'd had the miscarriages...."

Me: "Oh, ok. Hope you have fun"

    That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. If you are a friend, she should have invited you and then been understanding if you declined, not made the decision for you.

    I'm sorry.  I can *almost* see where her intentions may have been good, just poorly executed.  Regardless, she should have invited you and then been gracious and understanding if you chose to decline.

    I know we all have our moments when we're crazy sad and upset about our losses, but why would someone think you're that fragile that you couldn't and wouldn't want to share in their joy.  Shower's aren't easy cause we all wish it was us, but I don't think I know anyone on here that wouldn't be thrilled to share in the joy of a friend's celebration.  I'm sorry you didn't get an invite, but on the bright side that's extra money you can treat yourself to a pedicure.
