Mama's with babies that have short even hair...

Just curious...is it perfectly even because the baby was born bald or because ALL their hair fell out when they were little or because you trim their hair?  I love how it's all even and grows out evenly.  With Ally, she has some patches of hair that are 6 inches long and some that are just 3 or 4 inches.  People mention trimming her hair a little, but I really want to wait until she's at least 1.  But honestly, I really want it to grow out long and then I'll eventually trim the edges to make it even.  I definitely know she's going to go through an awkward hair stage.

  • Samuels' has grown out evenly. He never lost his hair and hardly had a bald spot. My mom has accused me of cutting his hair, but I haven't.

Eloise's hair on the other hand grew out as a perfect mullet. I trimmed her hair at 5mo and she had several more before 1yr because the mullet kept coming back.

  • People ask me all the time if I cut Cooper's hair because it looks like he has a perfect little boy's haircut.  I don't, it's just the way it's grown.  His did mostly all fall out but not all at once, the top fell out first.  For awhile he was bald on top but had a monk's ring and mullet, it was awesome.  ;) Then it started growing back and he looked like he had a buzz cut. Now it's starting to get a little long and shaggy but it's still even.
My big boy is bounding towards 4! Baby brother coming in October!

    Hipster dog is not impressed.
  • Tracey always had more hair in the back than on top. Most of it ended up falling out, but it took forever for the top to grow in, so she is still my little Billy Ray

People sometimes tell me I should trim it, but it's usually people who think trimming makes the hair grow faster. I don't bother listening to them because there's no way I'm trimming that curl in the back!
