We got serious about PTing in January of this year when DD turned 2...used stickers/m&ms as rewards and DD was doing great in Jan/Feb and was excited about using the potty...she lost interest in March and we back-pedaled for awhile...in June I tried the 3-day method and it was a big fat fail...in June to July we started to transition her to cloth trainers since she acknowledges that she is wet/has had an accident in those and could care LESS if she does in a disposable pull-up...we've continued to use rewards and praise this entire time and she is maybe 50%...she is more like 90-95% at daycare, but when she is at home or with my ILs it's totally different...I'm just so frustrated and discouraged! I hear things like girls are supposed to learn earlier and stories of kids PTing at like 18-24 months and it makes me even more discouraged...I don't get it and I'm not sure what we're doing wrong...has anyone else been PTing for a REALLY long time and still not even close to 100% yet?
Re: How long have you been PTing?
Us- nearly the same story as you except DD is a bit older. She'll be 3 in November. This is way harder than I thought it would be. We've tried pull ups, tried underwear and nothing. When she is in underwear she will stay dry for a day or two but then just kind of forget and have an accident.
We stopped the pull ups and only did underwear. She would have 6 accidents in a day for multiple days. I took that to mean she wasn't ready but now starting to think it is a power trip. She speaks in full sentences, can reason, can remember, etc but just won't use the potty
