So after the was three months old he was sleeping thru the night, which was awesome. Then after 9months old, he started getting recurrent ear infections and would wake up crying in the night and the only way to calm him and fall back to sleep was to bring him to bed with us. got tubes a couple weeks ago and is still doing the waking and crying, which is probably now habit for him. Last night we decided to let him cry, which lasted about 30 minutes. woke up once or twice, whined and fell asleep again. It was hard but my husband had a harder time than me! Any advice or words of encouragment would be wonderful. gonna try to stick with it

Re: give me strength! letting them cry it out
As long as you?re sure he doesn?t have an infection, he?ll probably go back to sleeping on his own again pretty quickly. See how tonight goes. When we did Ferber?s progressive wait with DD, she went to sleep much faster the second night.
If it makes you feel better, DD loves being able to fall asleep on her own. She tries to get into her crib when she?s tired.
I know it's soooo hard, and I thought DS would hate me forever, but they don't remember and are just as happy to see you in the morning.
It was really tough to do, but it's soooo worth the effort. DS doesn't fuss at all now when we put him down, he goes right to sleep and we're all soo much happier!!
we had nasty recurrent infections from six months to one year. he never freakin' slept!! We had PE tubes in at one year and things got better in a serious hurry, and then fell apart horribly. it was his molars!! you might want to ask your pedi. or ENT how close you are to having molars pop through... DS took the better part of three months for his to come all the way in!
Can't tell you how many dr's visits we had, with me convinced it was another ear infection, to have them tell me his ears were beautiful!
