Hi ladies,
Just wondering how you're going about meeting other moms/babies in your area. Things have been really busy - we're just now getting into somewhat of a routine & I just went back to work part time. I'm thinking of looking into some groups or just doing casual get-togethers - any suggestions?
Re: meeting new moms/babies
my read shelf:
I sign Aiden up for a lot of storytimes (2 times a week) so we meet people there.
I would love to start a weekly playgroup/gtg here if anyone would want to join us.
Edit - That should be Weekly playgroup. being a SAHM most weekends are "Daddy time" but if DH is working we could meet on weekends. Sorry for that mix up
I'd be up for meeting in the evenings. Right now the only nights that don't work for us are Tuesdays.
ETA: To the original poster- you should check out ecfe groups or library storytime for babies in your area. At least in our area they offer some evening/Saturday ecfe and storytime classes too.

I would be willing to meet up during the weekdays. Dh takes up my weekend times. Along with our older daughter who is in sports. Also evenings would if I didn't live in Taylors Falls and have such a horrible drive that my DS would melt down on the way home because he is not a night time car ride kiddo
Let me know if anything comes of this
Thursday nights work good for me. I usually get off work around 5pm. Ellie needs some baby interaction! She is so intrested in other kids, but all my friends have 2 year olds that want to jump all over her.

wow! thanks for the great responses & suggestions. it sounds like there's a bit of a mix as far as meeting weekday evenings & weekends. if people are up for it, we could choose one evening & either 1 weekend day or daytime during the week.mon I have off, & wed afternoon/evenings are free. otherwise tues after work.....let's do this - i'm thinking possibly once/week some sort of get-together, maybe alternating evening/weekend? where is everyone from - can we find a somewhat central locale?

I'm thinking wed evening & monday day or weekend day?

I'm also interested in meeting other moms. I've been feeling pretty isolated b/c I don't drive, so it's hard for me to get around. I've been meaning to go to LLL meetings, but it's hard to get out of the house before 10AM.
If any moms in the south Minneapolis area are interested in getting together, I'm definitely interested. I'm a SAHM so almost anytime could work, but it's easier for me to get a ride someplace in the evenings or weekends.
On a related note: I'm really bummed about the Nokomis Library renovation; it was the nearest library
We would love to meet up on the "west side" Next Monday. Edina has free baby story time (that you don't need to sign up for) Here is the info. We really like the Library storytimes you read 3-4 books, sing songs & then at the end there is free play.

Looks like all the bases have been covered, but just wanted to echo what a PP said. ECFE classes are a great way to meet other families with LOs the same age. We do ours through our school district and our DDs have met so many great friends and I have met a lot of parents/grandparents through these classes.
For an example, here is the Hopkins School District's ECFE website:
https://www.hopkinsschools.org/community-education/early-childhood/ecfe-early-childhood-family-education
I'm not sure if they have them in every district, but definitely worth checking out as an option to meet other families in the area.
