My co-worker actually just told me about this. It was successful for her 2 1/2 year old daughter. She said it took about 3-4 days of her sucking on the cut binky before her daughter handed it over and said "no binkie- binkie broken". She asked her DD what you do when things were broken and she walked over to the trash and threw it away.
Apparently the sensation of sucking on the cut binkie is really annoying to them.
It sounds interesting, I just wonder if snipping up the binky could cause some kind of chocking hazard. I don't think poking the holes would, but slitting it all the way down would make me nervous. We already have to check DS's binkies cause he chews them so badly that they sometimes break up and crack and it looks like pieces could come off. I would do the holes, but not slit the actual plastic up the middle.
Re: Anyone try the Bye-Bye Binky website method?
I've got my scissors ready waiting to go get it from DS.....I'll post early next week about the result.
