Where do you guys find out what the best "must-have" toys are for each age group?
DS is almost 3 months and so I should get her a new set of toys, but going down the aisles at the stores is just so overwhelming. I found out from a friend that I "must" get Sophie the Giraffe, but where else can I find out what other toys are "must haves"?
Re: Age appropriate toys
Someone gave me a big box of Sassy brand toys. It was awesome. All kinds of rattles and teethers and stuff and I had never realized before how expensive those things could get! They were like $5-10 individually but I think the whole box was under $30. The box was bigger than this set but I can't find it online anywhere now, so maybe they stopped making it. Anyway, this one has some of the ones that he liked the most but that other one had way more... wish I could find it. It was a great shower gift!
Hang out on the 0-3 and 3-6 boards for awhile -- there are constantly posts about the popular toys. That's where I learned about everything!
Thanks to the Bump boards, DS has a Sophie, a Winkel, several Lamaze toys (Jacques the Peacock and Mortimer the Moose are two popular ones), and several others that I know I'm forgetting...but those were his favorite first toys.
Edit: I just saw the FP puppy in my sig pic and it reminded me...a lot of people rave about the Leap Frog My Pal Scout/Violet, too.
