It's totally up to you! There is no rule saying when it's okay to tell. A lot of people wait until they are 12 weeks because the risk of miscarriage is lower at that point. However, I would say tell the people you would want support from if, heaven forbid, something were to happen.

Good luck for a happy, healthy pregnancy!!
This exactly.
I was so excited that I told my parents and IL's right after I got my positive test results - so about 5 weeks along!

I told my mom right after my BFP! And I made a dr. appt the very next day and then told my ILs. The rest of the family found out maybe a week or so later - so basically most of the family knew around 7 or 8 weeks. My mom told me that we need every prayer we can get and if something ever did happen then I would need those prayers even more (plus she was bursting at the seems with the secret!)
You really have to do what you are comfortable with, like PP said!
As soon as I missed my period I told my boyfriend right then and for our 4 year anniversary I surprised him with the pregnancy test...which came out positive. I told my sister next BIG mistake. I just found out that she secretly told all of my cousins! When I told my parents at 6 weeks they told people too instead of waiting! Now everyone on my side of the family knows behind my back!!
The sad part is that no one in my boyfriends family knows...he is so nervous it is cute even though I KNOW how excited they will be.
Point here is...you can't trust anyone! Even my boyfriend told his friends! There goes the joy of sharing the news.
We told our immediate family after our first doctor's appt, which was ~7 weeks. They did good keeping it a secret. At 12 weeks, we told everyone else. Congrats!!
Like other posts said, it think it is a matter of personal opinion. I knew immediately I was going to tell my mom because we are very close and i knew I need her for support (if anything happens). DH told his parents and his brother and I told my dad, sister, brother, sil, and grandma. DJH told his best friend and i will probably tell my closest friend on Saturday because we are going on a historcial tavern tour and if she sees me not drinking, she miht think something is up!!
Do whatever feels right to you!
