I can't remember exactly (4 years ago with DS) but I recall doing a finger prick thing on a test paper to mail in and then went in and did the NT scan.
This time around, I think I do the blood work or finger prick - whatever it might be - after the NT scan. As in, I go for the u/s and I think they give me the sheet to mail in or a script to go and get it done, not sure.
Does your blood portion of the NT scan come before or afterwards? It would be nice to have it done before hand so that the results are all available the day of the u/s so I just can just rest easy.
Re: Blood for NT Scan Question
Here's what happened at my NT appointment this morning.
1st - met with the counselor to discuss our family history, brothers/sisters, descents, medical conditions. Told us what they were looking for, the results and what-ifs.
2nd - u/s. This was about 30-40 mins. Listened to HB, saw LO bouncing off the walls, measured the fluid behind head, took pictures.
3rd - met with Dr to go over u/s and how it looked.
4th - blood draw. They didn't prick my finger, but took a small (1/2 vial) of blood.
