Naptime and bedtime are a nightmare

I don't know where my sweet little girl went!  She used to be very easy to put to sleep- a few songs, some kisses, and that was it.

For the past few weeks, she has freaked out at night and at naptime.  It got much worse when we were in Chicago, but she's still just as bad now that we're home.  She will throw tantrums, and try to stall as much as possible.  Then when she's in her crib, she cries and says she wants to "go somewhere."  She'll sometimes mention that she wants to go into a big bed.  Instead of switching her right to a twin bed, which was our original plan, we just ordered a toddler bed because it's faster and cheaper.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?  I'm worried that it's just a phase, and we'll put her in the toddler bed and she'll just jump out of there and we'll have an even bigger problem!

  • I do not, but I want to wish you luck!

My sister just had to switch her son (25 mos) to a toddler bed b/c he learned how to crawl out of it.  The transition did go pretty well.  She will sometimes find him on the floor when she goes in to check on him (ie: by the door, not b/c he fell out), but most nights he stays in bed.

    Good luck to you!
