You have probably seen the story on the news about the little baby, Mario Delgado, who was circumcised while in intensive care despite the fact that his mother repeatedly said she did not want him to be circumcised.

I'm posting to let everyone know that there will be a protest/rally to support the Delgado family and genital integrity. The protest will be at South Miami Hospital on Friday September 17. It will go from 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
If you'd like to learn more details about the rally there is an event page set up on facebook. Just look for Genital Integrity events.

Re: Miami Protest- wrongful circumcision
If I lived near Miami, I would join the protest/rally because that is just wrong. She obviously has her reasons why she specifically asked for him to not be circ'ed and they decide to do their own thing and no I dont believe it was a mistake. It is ridiculous the power that Drs and people (who believe they have authority in general) try to take from mothers.
PS. the person that said people need to re-eval their priorities, I think you mean, people need to re-eval theirs to agree with yours??? She may not see the war and such as a priority even though you may but that doesnt make HER CHILD any less of a priority because that's what she decides to focus on.
Genital integrity?? Wow. And we're supposed to take that seriously?
I'm sure little Mario will be fine and his parents will happily spend any money they receive.
Genital integrity... hahaha... Just the name sounds makes me laugh. It's not a nuclear war... it's a piece of foreskin. He'll be better off without it.
I completely agree with this statement. As article stated, it was an error on the doctor's part; since the hospital apologized and recognized the error, I agree that the protest is a big much. It isn't like the hospital is requiring all males to be circumcised, at which time I believe a protest is necessary. However, this is my opinion, which everyone is entitled to (just like British is).

Really? He will be better off without it?
Completely agree, A protest against what? Accidents, sloppy dr's?? Protest all you want your wasting your breath and making a mockery of protests in general, why listen to any when there are so many like these that are just people who want to complain about something.
THANK YOU.
LOL what would the protest chant be??? "what do we want?? foreskin!! when do we want it?? now!...or...when we were born! untouched!"
Um - who the F are half the people on this post??
And, yeah, protest what? There are medical mistakes way too often unfortunately, maybe we should be talking about why that is? Managed care, health insurance crisis perhaps. This issue gets people riled up because of what it is.
And, since you're talking about "genital integrity" your time would be better served protesting genital mutilation of women in other countries.
Yep. Less chance of problems as he ages and they aren't the most attractive looking things when they aren't cut. More like anteaters.
Sorry to interrupt, but circumcision is a personal decision and quite honestly you are no one to come in and state that "boys are better off w/out it."
Personally, I agree with the procedure, but many on here, and around the world don't... it is a cultural, religious, and personal decision only the parents can make. And quite frankly you are no one to come on here and preach your beliefs... especially in that manner.

Medical errors happen all the time and in the greater scheme of things, an error circumcision is pretty mild. I get the mother's stance, my son is not circumcised, but a protest in this case is ridiculous. Sure, sue if you must but protesting for genital integrity sounds sounds laughable.
So no, I guess I won't be participating.
I agreed with most of your original statement but you lost all those points right here. I can't decide what's worse, the protest or this post by you.
