1st Trimester

10 weeks, no physical change

I'm 10 weeks along and I don't feel like I am showing one little bit. Maybe showing is not the best word because I know I'm not going to be obviously pregnant, especially not to others when I have clothes on. But even if I lift up my shirt, or when I get in the shower, I don't think my stomach has gotten any bigger.

I've done some "research" and I know that people don't usually "show" for quite some time but shouldn't I notice at least some difference??

Re: 10 weeks, no physical change

  • I think it depends a lot on your physical shape.  Great ab tone is supposed to mean that you don't "show" as quick.  If you're heavier you have more to hide it.  Also, you may not be suffering from the tremendous bloat that some of us have. If not, count your stars and move on.

  • With my first I didn't really start showing until around 4 months and it seemed like it just happened over night.

  • I really just started showing noticeably to myself at 14 weeks and others are saying stuff now at 16 weeks.

    You will show soon enough.

  • Please do your research!

Until 12 weeks your uterus is still inside your pelvic bone, there is no way anyone can really show except bloat until after that. The only exception being if this is your 2nd pg, maybe twins.

It'll happen soon enough and then you will want your body back!

  • Enjoy your last weeks of pre-preg bod.  You'll feel like a house soon enough.

  • Soooo.. You did research and it told you that women normally don't show this early.. and despite your excellent research, you have decided to post that you are worried that your body is corresponding with what your research has shown you as typical??

    hmmmmmm....

  • Actually TrinaKay in all the things I have read in multiple books and websites and the different people who I have talked with, no one told me that specific piece of information. Thanks for your help.
  • It will happen in time. :)  be lucky you don't have bloat!!!

SHE DID DO HER RESEARCH:   Quote: I've done some "research" and I know that people don't usually "show" for quite some time but shouldn't I notice at least some difference??

  • I didn't notice any change until probably 16 weeks, but I was obviously pregnant until 26w. It will happen soon enough, don't worry!
  • I'm not 'showing", but i also can't button my pants.... so I don't know where I am.... I guess bloated!
  • Enjoy it if you are not bloated, thats the only change I've noticed and I just hit 10 weeks today.  In the morning I feel like normal, and by evening I feel like I look 5-6 months pregnant.

thank you! thank you! and thank you! I've said this like twenty million times now.

you're baby is like the size of a quarter. If any of you are showing at this point, it's bloat or gas.

also, if you already knew this...than why are you expecting change?

  • I'm pretty sure my chest is larger. DH thinks so too, but I'm sure nobody else can tell.

  • I could feel a difference at 13 weeks and haven't been able to see a difference until this week.  It's normal.
  • "Difference" would be bloat. Which is not that pleasant.

If you've managed to escape this I wouldn't be upset about it. You'll plump up eventually.
