Is this LO kicking my bladder?

After weeks of waiting, I've finally been able to feel movement!  Mainly in my belly, but I have a new sensation that I'm not too excited about, and I'm not sure if it's the baby kicking my bladder or if I have other issues.

So here's the question... what do bladder kicks feel like?  To me, it's a "oh my gosh, I have to pee RIGHT NOW!" feeling that passes in a moment or two.  I know I don't really have to go, especially if I just went, so what could it be?  Is that the baby kicking my bladder?

Just curious if others can put it into words so I know what the heck is going on!

Thanks!!!

Re: Is this LO kicking my bladder?

  • I started feeling that about a week ago, and I I'm think that's what it has to be.  Sometimes this baby is resting on my bladder and I feel like I really have to go and am amazed how little pee there actually was, and other times it's - "ooh, I gotta go!  No, wait, I don't, Oooh, yes I do!  No, I don't!" sensation.

  • I believe so, I have had this feeling for a couple of weeks now and it is hard to describe but all of a sudden a bathroom is very much needed.  The other issue I have had is if I cough or sneeze.  So far I am thinking that I need to wear something when I am at work because I am afraid I am going to wet myself one of these days if I don't.

  • My LO loves to sit on my bladder and kicks it most of the time. Some days are worse than others, but the "gotta go" feeling does not subside. When I get kicked, I need to run to the bathroom ASAP. Everywhere I go now, I always scope out a bathroom just for this very reason.

I know it's not a UTI since I just sent to my OB on Monday and they said everything was normal with the urine sample.

  • I have that too - but it's almost exactly what it felt like when I had the UTI (except with the UTI it didn't come and go, the feeling just came quickly and didn't go away).

Sometimes I think it's kicks - or his head maybe resting on my bladder. For myself, I'm just going to double check at my next appt since I already had one UTI....

  • I've also been getting this the last 2 weeks or so.

  • I didn't feel the baby for a long time either, and for the most part when I do feel her it's on my bladder. To me it feels like someone poking my bladder over and over again but from the inside, and honestly it almost tickles. But I had my appointment today and found out that I have an anterior placenta, which is why I didn't feel her very early on, and why I don't feel her on my belly but only inside and down below (my bladder saddly enough). It made me feel better to know that at least there was a reason for me not to feel her moving, especially since in the ultrasounds she's always moving a lot. I like to say that it's the baby's way of saying "hey mom can you empty this thing, I'm running out of room!"

I found out last week that I have an anterior placenta too.  I was startig to worry when I wasn't feeling movement.  Now I am feeling small kicks!
