So I have been on here a lot talking about how I didnt think my Prozac was working and in fact making me worse- no eat, sleep, and HORRIBLE anxiety. So I called the on call after I woke today at 6 am throwing up.

 

Finally they agreed that it wasnt the right meds for me (after 5 weeks) so they called in Celexa. Anyone one it? Been on it? How did it work?

 

Im just excited that things should be improving soon. I hope so....... This will be my 3rd drug attempt     TIA

    Was the first one I tried last time.  Worked almost immediately, like within a few days.  I also seem to remember being on quite a low dose- 10 mg/day maybe.  Also, I experienced exactly ZERO side effects. I loved how well it worked.  Only problem was getting off of it.  Terrible weaning side effects, kind of like electric zaps in my head every time my eyes moved.  If I sound crazy, google it, it's a VERY common side effect to coming off.  GL!

    Zoloft was no good for me...so My doc put me on Celexa- 20mg a day.  I have had a little trouble sleeping...so I started taking it in the morning and it's been good since.  I have minor side effects- mostly low sex drive! =) I have no energy anyway...so it's really not an issue for me.  Celexa has just helped me even out a bit...I was feeling so UP & DOWN before.  I also see a therapist too, which has helped tremendously!

    whne u say sleeping was it trouble falling asleep or wakin up crazy early (thats what it does to me). We have a late schedule so usually I get to be at midnight and Im wide eyed awak by 5 am. Then I cant seem to nap at all during the day. But it is only day 3 for me

    celexa did nothing for me but prozac did. it is trial and error. I have tried them all. Good luck. If celexa doesnt' work you can try something else-- everyone has different chemistry so it takes some time to get the right one for you.

    I did really well on Celexa.

    It killed my libido, though, so we switched to Zoloft.
