When to send invites?

I'm due Feb 27th. My mom & sister are hosting a shower for me in Jan, but are keeping me in the planning. Today I was wondering when the invites should go out. I would hate for them to be lost in the piles of holiday cards, but they definitely shouldn't be sent out too late. Any ideas? Am I worrying for nothing?

hmmm you really can't avoid the piles of holiday cards in the month of December, so it doesn't really matter with that, but they should send out invites within 4 -6 weeks in advance... I wouldn't send anything earlier than 8 weeks if they want to send before December as people may forget or they get lost in the bottom of all that mail. Good Luck!!!

I would say 4-6 weeks before the shower.. i was really insistant that I wanted mine out way in advance this time around. I think they got out 2 months in advance. When i had my shower for ds one of my bffs that was hosting ordered the cutest invites and there was a delay and they got out less than 2 weeks before the shower and a lot of people could not make it.. I think there was about 8 of us and a few kids.. basically the hosts, 2 family members and 2 others.
