Baby Showers

Registering at Target - card inserts?

Did anyone who registered at Target receive those little registry announcement cards to insert with the shower invitations?

We are using some plain fill in the blanks style invitations & there really isn't a place on them where we can write the registry location info in.

We received the cards from BRU, but not from Target.  They seemed pretty clueless there when I asked about it.

My Mom may just do up some homemade ones to include, but I wanted to see if the cards from Target actually existed first.

Thanks!!

and btw - isn't it a nightmare trying to view your Target registry on-line???  almost every single thing I scanned in the store does not have a pic or any info on-line.  I even scanned the lavender Johnson's & Johnson's bedtime gift set and when I view it on-line, it is called the SMOKIN' HOT gift set!  how bizarro!!  Lots of odd/bizarre things from Target!

Re: Registering at Target - card inserts?

  • I prefer not to use the cards. I feel like registries aren't rocket science, and people will pretty much know to look at BRU, Target or Walmart. I'd leave them out, and if people still can't figure it out they can ask your hostess.

Ditto this. If you can't list them on the invitation, then just don't use the cards at all.

  • While it's fine to list your registry info on the back/bottom of the invite, do NOT use those card inserts.  They are extremely tacky & useless.

  • I've gotten invites with Target cards so I know they have them but maybe not at your store.  I don't have a problem with the cards...they list the web address which is helpful.
  • I wouldn't put those cards in - if the guest doesn't where to shop from your registry, they most likely will ask the host or whoever sends out the invitations.

  • Target doesn't give the cards out anymore.

I have no issue with the cards being put in invitations, it's pretty standard where I live.

  • Agree with most of the above posters...don't use those cards! They are kinda tacky. If guests can't find a registry, they will ask the host when they RSVP. :)
  • my local target said they dont have them in the store, that you have to find a customer service number and have them mailed to you
  • If you don't have the cards, pick up the Avery Printable business cards and just type both of your registries info on there. They are easy to use and you only have to worry about one card. Easy Peasy!
  • Target gave me some in my little goody bag and the hostess of my baby shower put them on the back of my one-sided invites with little stickers that said "It's A Boy". They turned out really cute!

Ditto to both things...I think that insert cards are only tacky if you are hosting your own party.

  • Target doesn't do them any more for baby registry, only for wedding registry.
  • Im having my mom use the BRU card inserts because it has the barcode on it for my rewards and Ill earn points for discounts and free diapers. Even if they buy me a $5 gift and use the card they'll be doing me a favor. How many people actually take the invite/cards shopping with them though, I have no clue. Im sure a majority of the people just go to the store knowing youre registered there and print up the registry there.
